"Autopsies are scheduled Monday on both bodies, he said.

Murder/Suicide Suspected In "Horrific" Trailer Park Killings

"BRUNSWICK, GA - Police are investigating the deaths of seven people found Saturday in a mobile home as a murder-suicide involving mostly members of one family, a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation [said].

"The law enforcement source and a woman familiar with the victims and the trailer park in the New Hope Plantation, said most of the victims were family members of Rusty Toler, a hard-working, soft-spoken man who loved his children.

"Toler and three of his four children are among those dead, while a fourth child is hospitalized in critical condition, said the woman who knows the family. Another gravely wounded victim, said to be a grandchild of Toler's, is also hospitalized, the woman said.

"The other dead include a man and woman who are either direct siblings or half-brother and half-sister to Toler. A seventh victim was the boyfriend of one of Toler's daughters, according to the source.

"Tight-lipped Glynn County police chief Matt Doering was planning a news conference today to further discuss what he described as a `horrific` scene in the area's worst carnage ever.

"The son of one of the victims found them about 8 a.m. Saturday in the mobile home park 10 miles north of Brunswick. State medical examiners are working today to determine how the victims were killed.

"The survivors were taken to a Savannah hospital for treatment, and the seven bodies are at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Savannah crime lab for autopsies.

"Doering reported no arrests Saturday night and said then he was unsure if the person or persons responsible for the killings are among the dead - or still on the loose.

"`Do I believe there's someone else out there? The answer is I don't know, I wish I could tell you more,` Doering said.

"Some of the victims have been tentatively identified, but Doering said Saturday he would release no names or ages until the next of kin were notified. He said there were some school-age children and middle-age adults among the victims.

"County Coroner Jimmy Durden said the victims appeared to have been killed overnight. Their bodies were discovered lying on the floor and beds inside the mobile home.

"Because of the severity of the injuries, their identities and manner in which they were slain could not be readily determined."

"The man and his 35-year-old son-in-law had experienced disagreements, Farmington Hills Police Lt. Dave Stasch said this morning. But the man’s daughter – the murder victim’s wife – never anticipated the issues would lead to the tragedy that unfolded just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

End Of A Sad Affair

"BARTOW, FL - The dead bodies of a 57-year-old man and his 21-year-old girlfriend were found in an orange grove near the Winter Haven Airport this morning in what Sheriff Grady Judd said has `the appearance of a murder-suicide.`

"Earlier today, sheriff’s officials made a public appeal for information about John `Jack` M. Nicholson and Kristy Lisenby after witnesses reported seeing Nicholson shoot Lisenby Tuesday afternoon.

"According to the Sheriff’s Office, about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nicholson drove through an area near Jarrett Gordon Ford looking for Lisenby. The Ford dealership is located at 3015 Lake Alfred Road.

"Nicholson threatened to kill a friend of Lisenby’s if they didn’t tell him where she was. However, Nicholson drove off without hurting anyone.

"About an hour later, Nicholson returned and this time found Lisenby standing in the roadway.

"Witnesses told detectives they saw Lisenby walk to the vehicle and lean into the passenger window. Witnesses say they saw the driver, later identified as Nicholson, point a gun at Lisenby. Witnesses said they heard a gunshot and saw Lisenby fall to the ground.

"`It took us off guard. We were at the highest advantage point to see (what was happening,)` said Stuart Seifreid, an employee at the Jarrett Gordon dealership. Some witnesses took pictures of Nicholson’s vehicle with cell phone cameras.

"After the gunshot, Nicholson got out of his vehicle, went around it, picked up Lisenby and put her in the passenger seat, telling witnesses he was taking her to the hospital, Judd said.

"Detectives checked area hospitals and no one matching Lisenby’s description had been treated.

"Detectives went to Nicholson’s home at 80 Perch St., in Winter Haven, but could find no one home.

"About 10 a.m. today, a grove worker found Nicholson and Lisenby’s bodies on the ground on either side of Nicholson’s vehicle in an area at Pearce Road and Lakeview Court Northwest near the airport.

"Lisenby has a criminal history. A check of the Polk County Jail Web site shows she was arrested and charged with cocaine possession in March 2007 and again for cocaine possession in August 2008. In April she was in jail for a day for violating probation.

"No criminal history could be found for Nicholson."

Heavy Artillery Fails To Stop Double Murder/Suicide

"MOORESBURG, TN - Although the official causes of death are pending completion of autopsies, Hawkins County investigators believe two men and a woman found deceased early Tuesday morning at a Mooresburg residence were the result of a double murder/suicide.

"Hawkins County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the residence at 443 Mooresburg Springs Road shortly before 8 p.m. Monday on a domestic disturbance, and shortly upon their arrival reportedly heard gunshots.

"The building was originally described as a barn, but deputies later found out [it] was a residence, although the ground floor was either unfinished or being utilized for storage.

"`Upon their arrival deputies heard voices inside, announced their arrival, and at that point heard several gunshots from inside the residence,` HCSO Lt. Detective Randy Collier said. `Deputies then backed off and took up position. At that time an unknown male came to the upstairs window displaying a gun and discharged the firearm. We don't know the direction (of that gunshot), and that's the last contact we had with anyone in the home.`

"Collier said that deputies unsuccessfully attempted to make contact with the people inside the building, and around 11:30 p.m. the HCSO Tactical Unit entered the ground floor and discovered a deceased male and female.

"`At that point they heard footsteps upstairs and then backed off to attempt to establish communications,` Collier said.

"In the early morning hours the HCSO's armored personnel carrier was deployed at the scene. Later Morristown police arrived with their robotic surveillance unit, although the layout of the building prevented the robot from reaching areas where the suspect might have been.

"The HCSO Tactical Unit later entered the residence, and the call came over the police radio at 4:35 a.m. that the residence had been secured. That's when the suspected shooter was discovered deceased on the second floor, Collier said.

"In the hours between the arrival of deputies and the discovery of the third body, authorities had described the incident as a standoff and a possible hostage situation. Dozens of police officers responded to the scene from Hawkins, Hamblen, Grainger and Hancock counties, as well as the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and attorney general investigators.

"As many as eight ambulances at one time and multiple rescue helicopters also responded to the scene and were on standby throughout the ordeal. Local volunteer firefighters directed traffic throughout the night where Route 31 was reduced to one lane due to being blocked by the tractor trailer that hauled in the armored personnel carrier.

"At least three nearby residences on Mooresburg Springs Road were evacuated until the scene was secured."

"It's all quite shocking to neighbors, who never expected to wake up to police, paramedics, and even the coroner working at the house across the street.

"`They were very nice neighbors, very quiet, stayed to themselves. Just the type of neighbors you really enjoy having,` said Jack Logan.

"He also says he saw the man in question on Sunday.

"`I saw Bill walking his dog last night. I waved to him and as far as I knew everything seemed fine and dandy,` Logan said.

"But things for this couple may have been more difficult than many fully understood.

"`You have to be sympathetic to those folks. They were really in bad shape,` said Ralph Hansen.

"Hansen said the two were in failing health, and other neighbors living next door to the couple say the husband had developed Parkinson's disease, which made it hard to take care of his ailing wife.

"But no one seemed to know just how desperate their situation had really become.

"`Nobody on Arrowrock Lane expected anything like this,` said Jack Logan."
