"Jassowala, Pakistan - Upset over drunken behaviour of her husband, a woman today gave poisonous substance to her minor daughter before allegedly committing suicide at a village here, police said.

"According to police, the incident took place at Jassowala village in the district, where 25-year-old Hemlata first gave poisonous substance to her four-year-old daughter and then herself consumed the substance this morning following a tiff with her husband Sonu over his drunken behaviour.

"They were soon rushed to a nearby hospital where Hemlata died. However, her daughter was saved by the doctors, they said.

"Police are interrogating Sonu in this regard."

"DADELDHURA, Nepal - A man shot dead his uncle and then turned the gun on himself Monday night in Amargadhi-4 in Dadeldhura district.

"Khadak Bista, 25, shot his uncle Tek Bahadur Bista, 45, before shooting himself. The shootings followed a minor dispute, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Chakra Bahadur Singh of District Police Office, Dadeldhura.

"According to police, Jagdish Bista, 12, son of Tek Bahadur, sustained serious bullet injury in the incident. He was taken to Kohalpur Teaching Hospital for treatment."

Man Kills Mother Of Four, Jumps In Front Of Train

"Hampshire, UK - A mum-of-four was stabbed to death in what police believe may have been a murder-suicide.

"Julie Sudlow’s body was discovered in a house in Maralyn Avenue, Waterlooville, near Portsmouth, on Friday night, just hours after a man was killed by a train in Winchester.

"The 41-year-old, who lived in Berry Croft, Abingdon, had suffered two stab wounds.

"Police in Hampshire said last night they were treating her death as murder and were connecting it to the death of the man in Winchester. They are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death.

"Hampshire Constabulary spokesman Lucy Dibdin said Mrs Sudlow and the man — who had not been identified yesterday — knew each other.

"Miss Dibdin said Mrs Sudlow was a mother of four, separated from her husband and unemployed.

"She said her family had been left extremely distressed by what had happened."

"No Signs Of Violence" In Attempted Double Murder/Suicide

"Adelaide, Australia - Police will wait for toxicology results and an autopsy report before revealing what caused the death of a four-year-old boy in his Adelaide home.

"The boy was found dead in a bedroom of a house in Kensington Gardens, in Adelaide's eastern suburbs, at 7.40am (CST) on Monday, police said.

"Local media have labelled the incident a double murder suicide attempt, after the boy's 47-year-old mother and nine-year-old brother were taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

"Detective Chief Inspector John Gerlach said the pair had suffered no obvious physical injuries and were in a serious but stable condition.

"`When they were taken to hospital they were passing in and out of consciousness,` he told reporters.

"Police spent several hours on Monday searching the house trying to find what the trio may have ingested.

"`We believe that medication may be involved,` Chief Inspector Gerlach said.

"Chief Inspector Gerlach said police were still waiting on toxicology reports, but that they believed no gases or dangerous chemicals were involved.

"An autopsy will be carried out on Tuesday to determine how the boy died.

"`Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident here to try and determine what happened, but what I can say is that there is no signs of violence in the house,` Chief Inspector Gerlach said.

"`The circumstances of the death are pretty much contained to the house and the people who live inside.`

"It is understood the father, who works in the pharmaceutical industry, discovered his wife and two sons in one of the bedrooms and immediately dialled triple zero.

"The father, who at this stage is not a suspect, attended a nearby police station on Monday morning to assist police with their inquiries.

"`Obviously it is a very difficult situation for him,` Chief Inspector Gerlach said.

"`They are always tragic circumstances, we don't like investigating these sorts of incidents, but it's something we have to do.`

"It is understood the family had only recently moved to the neighbourhood."

"COLUMBUS, OH — Columbus homicide detectives continued to investigate an apparent murder-suicide and two allegedly connected arsons.

"Columbus fire was called to the 8700 block of Scarsdale Boulevard close to 2:30 a.m.

"When firefighters arrived on the North Side scene, the home was engulfed in flames.

"The investigation took a turn after the fire was contained: Detectives said they think the fire was set intentionally to cover up a murder.

"A male suspect (also the homeowner) called police and said he shot a woman inside the Scarsdale Boulevard home and set it on fire, according to officials.

"CPD later identified the suspect as 39-year-old Edward L. Offord II.

"Fire crews found a woman’s body while fighting the flames. She apparently had been shot in the head.

"Detectives think Offord set fire to a home on the 5000 block of Charlbury Drive in Perry Township.

"Upper Arlington officials said that home belonged to the woman whose body was found in Offord’s home.

"Detectives eventually located Offord’s vehicle 10 miles north of the original scene, near the O’Shaughnessy Dam in Delaware County.

"Offord’s body and multiple firearms were found near the car, authorities said.

"Authorities haven’t identified the victim or released any details on the potential relationship between Offord and the woman.

"Authorities did say police have been to the Scarsdale Boulevard home before.

"`Patrol’s been up here numerous times for on different types of runs: domestic runs and disturbance runs,` Norman said."
