2 Dead, 1 Injured In Washington Murder/Suicide

"MAPLE FALLS, WA - Whatcom County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a deadly double shooting in Maple Falls.

"Deputies responded to a domestic violence-related call at a home in the 600-block of Sprague Valley Drive about 3:30 this morning.

"Deputies found a 14-year-old girl and an adult male dead inside the home.

"Sheriff Bill Elfo said investigators believe the man shot and killed the girl and then turned the gun on himself.

"`We do not believe there are any suspects remaining at large presenting a continuing threat to the community,` Elfo said.

"`We think that the shooter we have, we know who it is and he's no longer a threat.`

"A woman, believed to be the teen's mother, was also shot and wounded.

"She escaped and ran to a neighbor's house, and is now being treated at Saint Joseph Hospital."

Body Shop Bloodbath

"ADDISON, AL — Family members and residents of Addison are still reeling from news of a domestic murder-suicide Monday that also left a third man hospitalized.

"In a single tragic afternoon, members of the Anders family lost two of their own, and their vigil over a third surviving family member continues as he recovers from surgery to treat triple gunshot wounds.

"According to multiple family members’ reports, Hoyt Anders and his son Kerry were working at the Anders Body Shop on highway 41 in Addison Monday afternoon when Hoyt’s brother, Mark Anders, allegedly burst into the business with a .22 rifle and began shooting.

"Winston County coroner Larry Gilliland said Hoyt Anders died from numerous gunshot wounds. Kerry Anders, who survived, was shot three times, according to family members.

"Mark Anders then allegedly took his own life with the murder weapon.

"Gilliland pronounced both Hoyt, 55, and Mark, 48, dead at the scene Monday at 3:15 p.m. - only 22 minutes after a Winston County deputy was first notified of the crime."

Killer Unclear

"LOS ANGELES, CA - Two people were killed early this morning in Rosemead in a shooting authorities believe was a murder-suicide.

"The shooting happened just after midnight in the 2600 block of Earle Avenue, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Aura Sierra. A woman was found dead at the scene and a man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, Sierra said.

"The two had previously been dating, she said. A gun was recovered at the scene but it was not immediately clear who had shot whom.

"`I can tell you it’s been deemed a murder-suicide,` Sierra said.

"The identities of the victims were being withheld until their families were notified."

Two Found Dead In Alabama

"ENTERPRISE, AL - An Air Force master sergeant and his wife were found dead in their Enterprise home as the result of an apparent weekend murder-suicide, according to Enterprise police.

"Ronald Zaremba, Jr., and Jenni Zaremba, both 37, were found dead in the master bedroom at their 113 Harrand Creek residence after Enterprise police responded Sunday at 1:47 a.m. to a report of the shooting, police Capt. Mike Lolley said Monday.

"At the time of his death, Ronald Zaremba was assigned to Fort Rucker, according to Coffee County Coroner Robert Preachers. The coroner said military orders assigning him to Warner Robins Air Force Base in Georgia were found at the residence.

"Zaremba’s 14-year old stepdaughter was in the residence in her bedroom when authorities arrived, but was uninjured, said Preachers. The initial investigation determined Zaremba shot his wife twice and then shot himself, Lolley said."

Troubled Relationship Sparks Incident

"ATLANTA, GA - Two people are dead following a SWAT standoff in southwest Atlanta overnight.

"Police said it began when a former boyfriend walked into an apartment complex [probably here, according to other news reports - tsc] and opened fire.

"Atlanta police said they converged onto a southwest Atlanta apartment at around 10 o'clock Sunday night after reports of shots being fired.

"Family members told police what was happening inside the apartment. Witnesses said a former boyfriend of one of the residents burst in the home and starting firing. Some of the family members inside were able to make it out, but the female was stuck inside alone with the gunman.

"Police said the shooting appears to be a murder-suicide. Both the gunman and a female inside the apartment were killed.

"Police said no one else was injured. Homicide detectives will continue to investigate, but police said the incident was sparked by a troubled relationship.

"Apparently, the two had some sort of relationship in the past that did not end well.

"Police will not release the identities of the victims until family members are notified."
