Neighbors Heard Screaming And Gunshots

"KINGWOOD, TX — A man and woman are shot to death, and police are calling it a murder suicide.

"They were found in a home on Forest Springs near Creek Manor in Kingwood late last night. Neighbors called police when they heard screaming and gunshots coming from the house. Officers couldn't get in touch with anyone inside.

"`They knocked on the door and got no answer. They tried the door and it was open, directly inside they found the body of a white male,` said Mark Coleman with the Houston Police Department.

"The woman's body was found in another room. Police say the man was the one who pulled the trigger. The identities of the man and woman have not been released."

Corndog Couple Found Dead

"AUBURNDALE, FL — Family members and a neighbor found an Auburndale couple dead in their bedroom Monday in what may have been a murder-suicide, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

"Corndog vendors Anthony Hill, 54, and his wife, Mary, 48, were last seen alive about 6 p.m. Saturday.

"Family members trying to reach Anthony Hill for his birthday entered the couple's locked home on 108 Sunny Lane on Monday and found them dead. The sheriff's office was notified about 6:20 p.m.

"Monday was Anthony Hill's birthday.

"Anthony Hill had been shot once in the back of the neck and once in the side of the head. Mary Hill was lying next to her husband on the bed with a single gunshot wound to the head and a black and silver semi-automatic handgun in her right hand, according to the sheriff's office.

"The Hills had been married since 1993 and lived in their home for about 10 years. They ran a corndog-vending business that operated at carnivals.

"The couple had been expected to travel to South Dakota for the beginning of a state fair and carnival season that would have ended at next year's Strawberry Festival, according to the sheriff's office.

"The investigation is ongoing."

Investigators Suspect Murder/Suicide

"STERLING, VA — An investigation into an apparent murder-suicide continues in Sterling today, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

"A Sheriff’s 911 dispatcher received a call around 6 a.m. today regarding a shooting on 802 South Birch Street in Sterling. Deputies found a female victim, later identified as Mercedes K. Perry, 61, inside the home. Deputies located a male victim, identified as Larry E. Perry, 64, outside the home near a detached garage.

"Shortly before noon today, investigators reaffirmed their belief that Larry Perry killed his wife and then turned the weapon on himself.

"The case remains under investigation by the Loudoun Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division."

Bodies Found After No One Answered The Phone

"WOODWARD, OK — A Woodward Middle School teacher died over the weekend, the apparent victim of a murder-suicide.

The bodies of April Lynn Miranda, 34, and her husband, Guillermo Miranda, 38, were found in their home on Route 46 north of Gage about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Jessica Brown said.

"`We believe that he shot her and then shot himself,` Brown said.

"The body of Guillermo Miranda had one gunshot wound to the head and April Miranda suffered two gunshot wounds, Brown said.

"Brown would not say where April Miranda was shot.

"Brown told the Woodward News she did not have information about what type of gun was used.

"The bodies were found by family members, Brown said.

"`Nobody was answering their phones, so they went by the house, and that's when they discovered them,` she said.

"Their three sons were not home at the time, Brown said.

"The shootings apparently happened either overnight (Saturday) or on Sunday morning, Brown said. Relatives had contact with them Saturday."

Names Released In Attempted Murder/Suicide

"RANDALLSTOWN, MD — Baltimore County police released the names of the couple involved in an attempted murder and suicide on Sunday: Melissa Brown, 33, and her husband, Neil Ivan Brown, 45.

"Melissa Brown was critically injuried and her husband died in the incident in their home on 4219 Dressage Court in Randallstown, according to a police statement issued Monday.

"At about 4:25 p.m. Sunday, officers from Pikesville/Precinct 4 responded to the townhouse in Randallstown's Foxridge on McDonough neighborhood for a domestic-related call.

"`When officers arrived at the location, they heard a woman inside the location asking for help because she had been shot,` according to the statement. `Officers quickly entered the home, and were able to safely remove her from the foyer.`

"She was transported in critical condition to Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds in both legs, police said.

"Officers then tried to contact Neil Brown inside the home with the help of Hostage Negotiation Team members and the Tactical Unit.

"When they couldn't contact him, they entered the home and `found him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound,` according to the statement."
