Octogenarians Found Dead In Home

"TAMPA, FL — Deputies are investigating an apparent murder/suicide at a home on Six Mile Creek Road.

"Emergency responders got a 911 call from the 60-year-old son of Eloise P. Bailey, 87, and her husband, James G. Bailey, 88, to come to their home at 9912 Six Mile Creek Road at 11:45 a.m., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

"Inside the home, the Baileys were both dead with gunshot wounds to the upper body.

"Detectives said it appears James Bailey shot his wife and then turned the gun on himself.

"The Baileys' son regularly checked on his parents, and he had spoken to them Saturday morning before he made the discovery, said Larry McKinnon, a spokesman for the sheriff's office. Eloise Bailey may have been ill, according to preliminary information.

"Autopsies will be conducted by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office."

Man Kills Sister, Mother Before Shooting Himself

"CARROLLTON, AL — A west Alabama man killed his sister and his elderly mother before turning a gun on himself inside a Pickens County home, according to authorities.

"The bodies of 82-year-old Dora Johnson and her 63-year-old daughter Patricia Hudson were found at Johnson's home in Carrollton early Friday. Johnson's 53-year-old son, John Virgil Johnson, was dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"According to several reports, authorities have said the killings appear to be murders followed by John Johnson's suicide. Investigators have declined to release information about how the women died until autopsy results are returned.

"Dora Johnson and her son lived together at the Cox Street home. Hudson, who was visiting her mother, lived in Millport.

"Carrollton Police found the bodies around 12:30 a.m. Friday after a relative asked that police conduct a welfare check at the home.

"The Pickens County Sheriff's Office, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and the Pickens County coroner are investigating the deaths.

"Dora Johnson was well-known in the community as a dedicated supporter of the historic Pickens County courthouse, and she was recently honored by having a courtroom named after her."

Police Find Three Dead In Home

"LANSING, MI — A 53-year-old Lansing man shot and killed his wife and her 14-year-old son Thursday night before fatally shooting himself, Lansing police said today.

"Police identified the man as Randy Keith. Police say he killed his wife, 37-year-old Christine Keith, and her 14-year-old son, Isaac Miller.

"The couple were married in 2003. They had three children together, ages 8, 6 and 4, court records show. Those children were not at the home in the 700 block of West Saginaw Street at the time of the shooting.

"Christine Keith filed for divorce in April but dropped the case less than a month later. She also filed a personal protection order in April against her husband but rescinded it in July.

"Police went to the home after receiving a call about a woman who appeared to be dead inside.

"Officers made an emergency entry around 7:20 p.m., according to Capt. Daryl Green.

"Officers found Randy Keith, his wife and her son dead inside."

No Known Motive In Attempted Murder/Suicide

"PEARLAND, TX — A man apparently shot and wounded his ex-wife inside her Pearland home Wednesday before fatally shooting himself, authorities said.

"Brazoria County Sheriff's deputies responding to a shooting found the two about 3 p.m. at her home in the 2400 block of Woodbury.

"The man was dead and his estranged wife was taken by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Her condition wasn't known Wednesday night but deputies said she was still alive.

"Detectives said the case remains under investigation and they have not officially confirmed a possible motive. But, they believe it was an attempted murder/suicide. There were no signs of forced entry into the woman's home and the estranged couple was found together with a weapon.

"Next-door neighbor Joe Wright said he was stunned by what happened inside the two-story home with its festive Christmas decorations on the front lawn.

"`They were good people. I never knew that anything was going on,` Wright said. `I never heard them arguing with each other.`

"The couple had a son, about 8, who wasn't home at the time of the shooting and is now with family members, neighbors said.

"Sheriff's deputies did not identify the couple. Neighbors said the man was apparently in his early 50s while his ex-wife was in her early 40s."

Deputies Find Dead Man & Woman

"ASHEVILLE, NC — The Buncombe County Sheriff said they are investigating the discovery of two bodies as a murder/suicide case.

"Buncombe County deputies said the investigation was going on at a home on 10 David Court in the Mount Carmel community Wednesday.

"Deputies received a call at 7:55 a.m. and when they arrived at the home, they said they found a man and woman who appeared to have been shot to death.

"Sheriff Van Duncan said they believe `very strongly it's probably a murder/suicide` case as there were no signs of forced entry to the home along with other things inside.

"He said they have spoken with someone who was inside the house when shots were fired. Duncan said they are also looking at previous calls deputies have made to the home to see if they were relevant in the death investigation.

"Deputies identified the victims as Madonna Cox, 40, and Jeremy Henson, 37. Deputies said they lived at the David Court home where they were found dead. Deputies said they are still waiting on autopsy reports to determine the cause and manner of death for both victims."
