Man Steps In Front Of Train After Stabbing Woman

"RAYNE, LA — The man accused of stabbing a woman in Rayne is the same man whose vehicle was wrecked in Scott on Jenkins Rd. Shortly after that wreck, Lafayette deputies say that same man who crashed was hit by a train while at Cameron St. and Jenkins Rd.

"According to Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly, 29-year-old Gregory William Redondo Jr., of Duson, allegedly stabbed a woman three times. Police received a call around 11:04 a.m. about a woman stabbed at the corner of Oak and North Polk Streets. The woman was stabbed in her arm, neck and chest and is in stable condition at a hospital.

"That's when Redondo allegedly took off to Lafayette Parish, wrecking the car. Shortly after, a train engineer reported striking a pedestrian on railroad tracks parallel to the Cameron Street in Lafayette Parish."

  1. NOTE: Never do a Google image search for "train suicide". Nasty stuff.
