"PAWTUCKET, RI — A Massachusetts man shot and killed a Pawtucket man and then turned the gun on himself after finding his ex-girlfriend in the other man's bedroom Monday night, according to Pawtucket police.
"Robert Amado, 43, of 22 Plymouth St., in Carver, shot into the bedroom window of the first-floor apartment at 96 North Bend St. after seeing his ex-girlfriend and 45-year-old Timothy J. Robillard inside, said Maj. Arthur Martins.
"Amado then forced his way in through the broken window after the couple, firing multiple times at Robillard, according to the police. Robillard was killed, and the woman fled.
"Amado then fired a final shot, killing himself, Martins said. Officers called about gunfire and screams at the apartment at 10 p.m. found both men dead, Martins said. A revolver was next to Amado.
"Robillard's death is the city's first homicide this year. Police said there are no other suspects being sought.
"Police did not identify the woman, a 45-year-old Westport resident. Martins said she was shaken, but unhurt. It wasn't immediately known whether she'd complained to police about threats or violence from Amado. Their relationship had recently ended, Martins said.
"Amado was out on bail and due in Plymouth County Superior Court next month on charges of stealing more than $150,000 of construction and landscaping equipment from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Connecticut, and Maine.
"Amado and another man from Carver were both indicted last August on multiple counts of larceny, which carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison in Massachusetts, according to the office of Attorney General Martha Coakley.
"Amado was also accused of threatening two witnesses after he found out they'd spoken with law enforcement.
"The apartment house has been relatively quiet, with few calls to police over the last five years, Martins said."

"CUMBERLAND, RI — The man and woman killed in a murder-suicide Easter Sunday suffered from `severe medical issues,` police confirmed Tuesday.
"Cumberland Police Chief John Desmarais said Roland Bouvier, 73, shot Maria Bouvier, 70, twice in the torso before turning the gun on himself. Both husband and wife died from their injuries.
"Police were called to Victorian Court Complex on Nate Whipple Highway about 5 p.m. Sunday.

"Desmarais confirmed Monday Roland Bouvier left a note at the scene which read, `No more pills, no more pain.` Desmarais confirmed Tuesday the couple had `severe medical issues` that were physical in nature."

"WARWICK, RI — Police say they responded to 75 Kenway Avenue around 5 a.m. Saturday morning after a 12 year-old called police and told them that he and his brother woke up after hearing loud noises and commotion downstairs.
"The two escaped the home by climbing through a window and one brother ran next door to tell the neighbors what happened. The other boy stayed on the roof until he was found by police.
"According to police, a preliminary investigation revealed that John Oliveira, 45, of West Warwick, came to the home around 5 a.m. and shot the boys' mother, Carla Bowen, 47, of Warwick, multiple times. Bowen died in her home.
"Oliveira was Bowen's ex boyfriend.
"Police say after shooting his ex-girlfriend, Oliveira then shot Christopher Butler, 52, of Warwick multiple times. Butler also died at the scene. It is not yet clear what Butler's relation to the shooter was.
"After shooting his ex-girlfriend and Christopher Butler, Oliveira then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide.
"Police are continuing to investigate."

"WARWICK, RI — Police are investigating two deaths in Warwick as a murder-suicide.
"The victims were identified as 52-year-old William Liebrich and his wife 50-year-old Colleen Liebrich.
"Officers found them in their home at 161 Armstrong Ave. Both residents were found in bed with gunshot wounds.
"Police responded to the house after receiving a 911 hang up call just after midnight.
"Based on information at the scene, investigators said William Liebrich made the call and then shot his wife while she was in bed before turning the gun on himself.
"Investigators said William Liebrich left a suicide note.
"Autopsies will be performed to confirm the cause of the death of the victims.
"According to the Warwick Fire Department, William Liebrich became a firefighter in 1988 and retired in 2004. He was one of the Warwick fire inspectors for the Fire Inspection Bureau. Colleen Liebrich used to own a local salon.
"Family members [said] that Colleen Liebrich was battling a diseased pancreas over the past 15 years, and that her condition worsened over the past few months."

"PAWTUCKET, RI — A woman and her boyfriend were found dead in a Pawtucket apartment after a murder-suicide, police said Thursday.
"Police identified the victims as 21-year-old Federico Rico and 23-year-old Natasha Marshall.
"Officers were called to an apartment at The Lofts at 125 Goff Ave. by Marshall's father who said his daughter failed to show up for work.
"Police said they found Rico, who had a coaxial cable tied around his neck. The cable was attached to a railing on an upper level of the apartment.
"Police said Marshall was found dead in her bed.
"The state's medical examiner on Thursday ruled the death of Marshall to be a homicide. Police said she was strangled.
"Police said investigators found several handwritten notes in the apartment. According to police, the notes said he killed her first.
"Police said Marshall was training as a cadet at the Wyatt Detention Center in Central Falls."

"Investigators said a family member found Lucy Ponte, 54, severely beaten in her Larchwood Drive home shortly before 7 a.m. Monday morning.

"Police do not believe a weapon was used in the assault.

"NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI — Police said a North Providence man shot and killed his wife, and then killed himself early Wednesday morning.
"`Initially, it appears it is a possible murder-suicide,` said Maj. Paul Martellini of the North Providence police.
"Family members [said] that 21-year-old Mindy Tardiff was planning to leave her husband, 26-year-old Phandy Seth.
"Police said they received a call at about 3:15 a.m. from a man who said two people had been shot and needed help. Police said they believe Seth made the call just before killing himself.
"`The original call we received was from a male individual. It appeared that he requested police and fire personnel, because two bodies were on scene,` Martellini said.
"Martellini said finding out exactly what led to the shootings will be difficult. Officers talked with family members Wednesday, looking for any clues into the case.
Seth and Tardiff had been married for about two years. Police said there are no records of calls to the apartment or other contact with the couple in the past.
"Family members said Tardiff talked with her sister Tuesday night and told her she was ready to leave the marriage.
