"MONTGOMERY, AL — Montgomery Police are asking for the State Bureau of Investigation's help after a man committed suicide, but not before confessing to the killing of his wife.

"According to police on Wednesday, the man called an off duty MPD officer, confessed to the murder of his wife, told the officer where they could find her body, and then proceeded to commit suicide.

"MPD located the wife's body at the Quality Inn and Suites on 5035 Carmichael Road in Montgomery. The man's body was located at a cemetery off of Highway 14 and Chapel Hill road in Wetumpka.

"MPD has requested a state-level of investigation of the homicide because of it's relation to the death investigation in a separate jurisdiction.

"It's unclear whether the couple was having problems recently. State agents will be talking to friends and family as part of their investigation."

"KENOSHA, WI — Police have identified the elderly couple found dead in a car in a local cemetery Saturday, confirming it was a murder-suicide.

"Ronald and Nancy Meyers of Kenosha were found found Saturday morning at St. George Cemetery, 2909 Sheridan Road.

"Kenosha Police Chief John Morrissey said Sunday that the couple left “several notes and instructions” about the planned murder-suicide pact.

"`It’s one of those tragedies where one individual was sick, and the other said they couldn’t live without them,` he said. `They made a pact, if you will.`

"Ronald, 80, and Nancy, 78, each died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

"Morrissey said notes were found in both the car and the couple’s Pershing Boulevard home.

"`They had planned this out,` he said.

"While the investigation into the deaths isn’t officially closed, Morrissey said it’s just a matter of paperwork and formalities at this point.

"`It will stay open until the final autopsy,` he said. `But there is nothing we’re looking for. It was very well laid out for us. There’s no reason whatsoever to believe otherwise.`

"A cemetery maintenance worker discovered the bodies shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday."

"DOCTOR PHILLIPS, FL — The body of a man investigators said murdered his wife at an Orange County park has been located.

"Orange County deputies said Julian Paris was found dead by family members from a self-inflected gunshot wound, next to his late son's grave at Woodlawn Cemetery.

"Paris had been on the run since Wednesday, after investigators said he fatally shot his wife, Nicole, at Dr. Phillips Community Park.

"Deputies said the suspect's family thought they might find Paris at the gravesite.

"Paris' ex-wife and daughter found him dead at 7:20 p.m. Thursday. Paris' son died two years ago in a pedestrian accident at age 18.

"Meanwhile, the couple's three surviving children witnessed the shooting Wednesday afternoon at Dr. Phillips Community Park.

"Deputies were called out to a domestic violence incident involving the recently separated couple, hours before Nicole was killed.

"But right now, investigators don't know why he killed himself.

"`You all know that he was going through a separation, but we do not know why he took this extreme drastic measure. We got the call around 7:25 (p.m.), family called saying they found the body of Mr. Paris at his son's grave,` said Jane Watrel of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

"Paris had several aliases. His family said his given name is Rick Adderly.

"It's also been confirmed that Paris had known his wife Nicole for more than 20 years, because he was her stepfather.

"The two married in 1998, but before that, he was married to Nicole’s mother, who found his body Thursday night.

"Deputies are still looking for his white Kia Spectra with Florida license K259IV.

"The couple leaves behind three surviving children."

Police Find Body Of Killer In Cemetery

"SHARPSVILLE, PA — The deaths of two South Pymatuning Township men on Monday were ruled a murder-suicide, according to Mercer County Deputy Coroner John Libonati.

"Libonati said a single gunshot to the back killed Michael Eugene DeLong, 53, of 1367 Buckeye Drive.

"The death of Sandy Joseph Hoffman, 50, of the same address, was ruled a suicide after police found his body in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage, where his parents are buried. He apparantly shot himself in the chest, Libonati said.

"`Ruling on both is based on the evidence and the assessment of both at this point in the investigation,` Libonati said.

"Shortly before 3 p.m. Monday, Hoffman called 911 and told dispatchers he shot a man `in self-defense` and told police he would be in the cemetery, which is about a mile from the home where the shooting occurred.

"DeLong was pronouced dead at 3:24 p.m. inside the Buckeye Drive home and Hoffman was pronounced dead at 3:52 p.m in the cemetery, police said.

"DeLong is formerly from Sharpsville and found his way back to the area after living in various places around the country, police said.

"A self-employed contractor, DeLong was staying with Hoffman in exchange for doing work on his house.

"Libonati and police said they will have no more information to share until all evidence is gathered.

"`There is every indication that this is an isolated incident,` Libonati said. `We just have to make sure we gather everything to make a determination on who did what.`"

Body Of Shooter Found In Cemetary

"PINEVILLE, KY — A man and his two adult children were shot in Bell County Tuesday in what authorities say was a murder/suicide. The suspected gunman, a former Knox County, Ky. judge-executive, was found with a fatal gunshot wound in a Knox County cemetery.

"Kentucky State Police investigators say three victims with gunshot wounds were discovered at 9:42 a.m. in a home on Laurel Lakes Road near Pineville.

"Two men were found dead at the scene, Michael Smith, 50, and his son, Mychael Dustin Smith, 21.

"Robin Smith, 21, a daughter of the elder Smith, was wounded. Troopers say she was alert and speaking when she was airlifted to University of Tennessee Medical Center.

"A short time later Raymond Curtis Smith, 51, was found with a gunshot wound at his father's grave in Hammond Cemetery in Knox County, Ky. He died a short time later in a hospital of what troopers say appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"Raymond Smith was the judge-executive for Knox County from 2003 to 2007.

"Authorities say the gunman is not related to the three victims.

"Investigators are still trying to determine a motive for the shootings."

"NEWTON FALLS, OH — Police here believe a village man shot and killed four people Friday before fleeing to a nearby cemetery and fatally shooting himself in the chest after a short stand-off with police, ending an hours-long manhunt.

"Records, family interviews and police sources said Robert Brazzon, 55, fatally shot his girlfriend, Tracey Engler, 38, at the couple's 604-A Newton Drive home, then killed Rikki Cogley, 42, his wife Kathy Cogley, 39, and her son, 15-year-old Everett Greathouse at their 72 Trumbull Court home.

"Brazzon then drove a white Dodge Intrepid to the Newton Township Cemetery on Ridge Road where he took his own life, according to a release from Newton Falls police Chief John Kuivila.

"The Cogleys and Greathouse all had multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

"Another man, who police said drove with Brazzon during parts of the four-hour manhunt, was being questioned by investigators late Friday but had not been arrested.

"Investigators taped off the area surrounding both homes, which were separated by a narrow street about a block a part. Nearby residents watched the events unfold for most of the day.

"No motive has been given for the shootings.

"About 4 p.m., Kuivila and dozens of other officers who were still gathering evidence from the 72 Trumbull Court home, raced to their vehicles and drove to the cemetery. They quickly surrounded Robert Brazzon, who shot himself in the chest, police said.

"Police found the white Intrepid in the cemetery."

"PALMETTO, FL — At approximately 7:20p.m. Manatee County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Skyway Memorial Cemetery in reference to a suicide.

"A witness was at the scene and saw Charles Baker commit suicide by self inflicted gunshot wound. While responding to the cemetery an assault call was dispatched at 1015 69 st ct east Rubonia. After the initial investigation, it was determined the assault victim was shot in the head.

"While detectives were in route to the suicide, it was determined the two calls were related and that Baker was possibly the suspect who shot Kevin Parrillo. It was later determined that Baker did in fact shoot Parrillo before ending his own life. The two subjects were known to each other and detectives continue to investigate a motive in the shooting."

Suspected Killer Found Dead In Cemetery

"UNIONVILLE, OH — An act of violence ends in more violence as the man who stalked and murdered a school teacher is found dead.

"Mahoning County Career and Technical Center teacher Stacey Sutera was ambushed and shot to death early Wednesday outside her Canfield condo by 64-year-old Robert McLaughlin, a man who stalked her for years.

"Ever since the early morning shooting, police began to cast a wide net for the Painesville man.

"An off duty Madison Township police officer discovered McLaughlin's body and his rented van around 1:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the tiny Harpersfield Cemetery in Unionville, Ashtabula County.

"He was found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, slumped over his mother's grave.

"`We believe that Robert McLaughlin was aware that law enforcement was hot on his tracks,` explained Canfield Police Chief Chuck Colucci. `And eventually drove to a cemetery and that's where he decided to take his own life, one gunshot wound to the head, with a small caliber handgun.`"

"JACKSON COUNTY, WV — The Jackson County Sheriff's Department is investigating what's believed to be a murder-suicide.

"Sheriff Mike Bright [said] the bodies of a husband and wife were found in a pickup truck around 3:30 Wednesday morning at the White Pine Cemetery on Stone Lick Road near Kenna.

"Investigators say it appears the husband shot the wife and then turned the gun on himself.

"According to the sheriff, the husband called relatives Tuesday night to say he was planning to shoot the two of them, but he wouldn't reveal a location. That's when the relative called 911.

"The family told emergency officials of several locations where the husband liked to go. A short time later a relative found the bodies at the cemetery.

"However, it's unclear if that's where the first shooting took place.

"The husband and wife were in their 40s. Their names have not been released.

"The sheriff says the couple did not have a history of domestic violence."
