Three Dead After Domestic Argument

"FAYETTESVILLE, TN — The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting that left three people dead.

"Investigators responded to a shots fired call in the Windwood Subdivision early Sunday morning.

"When deputies arrived at the scene they spoke with two people who said they were inside the home when a domestic argument broke out and gunshots were fired in a bedroom. The witnesses told deputies they ran out of the house after the shooting.

"Deputies found the bodies of two men and a woman inside the home.

"They have identified them as Jeff Faulkner, 50 of Fayetteville, his wife, Julaine Marie Faulkner, 38, of Fayetteville, and her brother, Ryan Dale Oetken, 33 of Cartersville, Georgia.

"Investigators said Jeff Faulkner shot his wife and brother-in-law before turning the gun on himself.

"The bodies have been sent to the state medical examiner for autopsy and positive identification."

Police Find Three Bodies During Welfare Check

"PEKIN, IL — Three people were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds Sunday night at a home at 1227 Highland St., according to Pekin police Chief Greg Nelson.

"Officers were called to the address at about 9 p.m. and began an investigation that Nelson said could involve a murder/suicide scenario.

"Neighbors identified the residents of the home as 77-year-old Ira Lee Clemons, his 75-year-old wife, Barbara, and their 52-year-old son, Allen Scott Clemons.

"Officials declined to provide the names of the deceased, pending notification of family members.
The couple's bodies were found in a bedroom, while the son was found downstairs, according to Pekin Police Public Information Officer Don Jolly.

"`We're not looking for a suspect,` he said.

"Jolly said the call was in response to a well-being check from a relative. It is unknown when the deaths occurred."

Three Men Dead In Double Murder/Suicide

"CAIRO, GA — GBI agents and Cairo Police are investigating a shooting that left three men dead.

"Officials were called to a home at 1019 8th Avenue NE in Cairo around 7:30pm Saturday night.

"Agents say 38 year-old Jacinto Olguin, 57 year-old Jose Reyes Beltran and 39 year-old Aliro Ramirez died from apparent gunshot wounds. Agents believe one of the men shot the other two, then turned the gun on himself. Agents aren't saying who pulled the trigger yet, but they did recover the murder weapon, which was a handgun.

"`It's definitely a shock to the community because most of these people, the Mexicans here they are very gentle people. They are very friendly people. They are good people in general,` says friend Al Rocuant.

"Jose Reyes Beltran and Aliro Ramirez died at the scene. Jacinto Olguin died at Grady General Hospital.

"Autopsies are scheduled for Monday. Agents say they don't have a motive at this time."

"ALCOA, TN — Alcoa authorities say it appears a 47-year-old man shot his 39-year-old live-in girlfriend and her 18-year-old son to death Sunday night before killing himself.

"The dead are identified this afternoon as alleged gunman Amos L. Turbyfill, Stacy L. Wade and her son Joshua J. Demetri, according to a release from the Alcoa Police Department.

"The reason for the killings remains under investigation.

"The three lived together in a home at 813 Maple St. Police responded at 8:41 p.m. Sunday to a report of a shooting at the home.

"Neighbor David Hammontree said Turbyfill and Wade had lived there with the teen for a number of years.

"`They kept to themselves,` he said. `The only time I saw them is when they'd wave when they were going down the alley.`

"Turbyfill was due in Blount County General Sessions Court on Feb. 8 on a simple assault charge, stemming from an altercation over a car repossession.

"He was accused of hitting another man in the face Jan. 4, according to court records.

"According to the complaint, the pair had a verbal dispute that became physical when Turbyfill struck Josh B. Spears of Knoxville in the face, according to records.

"Turbyfill was served with the warrant while in custody, according to the complaint.

"His occupation was listed as a driver for Conway trucking company."

Motive Unknown In Double Murder/Suicide

"OXNARD, CA — Three people are dead in what witnesses are telling authorities is a possible murder/suicide in Oxnard.

"At about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, police in Oxnard received a shots fired call in the 1200 block of Hull Place. They discovered the bodies of two women—one in her 20s and the other in her 40s. One woman was found inside the home, one just outside the home.

"About 30 minutes later, police received a call of a shots fired in the 200 block of Marquita, about 3-4 miles from the original crime scene. They found a male deceased at the location in his backyard.

"Witnesses told police the three victims were related.

"Police are questioning family members.

"Homicide detective Luis McArthur said `We are looking at the relationship between the victims and the gunman. We believe both incidents are related to one other.`

"Officials have not yet defined the relationship between the alleged gunman and the victims but told Branson the public did not have to worry about an at-large suspect."

Cop Shoots Wife, Kid, Sets House On Fire Before Killing Himself

"BOULDER CITY, NV — A Las Vegas Metro Police officer apparently shot himself after killing his wife and child and setting their Boulder City home on fire, authorities said Monday afternoon.

"Henderson Police spokesman Keith Paul said the tragedy unfurled this morning at about 8:20 a.m. when a man called 911, confessed that he had shot his wife and child and said he planned to shoot himself, too. The caller also warned the emergency dispatchers he would shoot any police officer sent to try to stop him.

"Paul said Boulder City Police officers arrived within moments of the 911 call to a burning house in the 1300 block of Esther Drive. There, a man armed with a handgun stepped outside the front door of the house. He ignored officers' commands to put down the gun and re-entered the burning home. Shortly afterwards, Paul said, police believe he shot himself.

"SWAT units from the Henderson and North Las Vegas police departments also responded and went door to door to neighboring homes, asking residents to evacuate the scene.

"Firefighters extinguished the fire, and the three bodies—including one of a `little boy`—have been recovered, Paul said. He said the two deceased adults were the primary homeowners, but he would not offer details about what caused the three deaths. The Clark County Coroner will release those details after autopsies are completed."

"SANDY SPRINGS, GA — A woman and her two children were found shot to death late Wednesday afternoon in Sandy Springs, and police are investigating the possibility that it is a murder-suicide.

"`All three were dead from gunshot wounds to the head,` Sandy Springs police spokesman Capt. Steve Rose said. `We found the gun near the male victim.`

"The three have been identified as Mr. Edith Renner, 85, of Sandy Springs, Mr. Charles Renner IV, 45, of Kennesaw, and Ms. Suzanne Marie Renner, 49, of Sandy Springs, police said.

"The investigation unfolded shortly before 4 p.m. when one of the son’s co-workers found the bodies and called 911, Capt. Rose said.

"The co-worker went in search for Mr. Renner at his Cobb County home when he didn’t show up for a morning meeting, Capt. Rose said.

"Mr. Renner’s wife told him that her husband frequently checked on his mother in Sandy Springs.

"The co-worker showed up at the home at 52 Brandon Ridge NE and, possibly through the large bay window in the front, saw one of the victims, Capt. Rose said.

"Mother and son were sitting in separate chairs in the living room with gunshot wounds to their heads, the captain said.

"The daughter was outside on the back porch, also dead from a gunshot wound to the head."

Three People Found Dead In Home

"HOPKINSVILLE, KY — Parents and their adult son were all found dead Saturday morning in Hopkinsville in what police are calling a murder-suicide. The investigation continues in determining who pulled the trigger and what went wrong.

"`The initial call came out as three people shot,` Hopkinsville Police Sergeant Kyle Spurlin said.

"Around 9:45 Saturday morning, Hopkinsville Police rushed to 309 Hillaire Drive.

"`We heard sirens. Police started pulling up, pulling rifles out of their cars,` neighbor John Kelly explained.

`"We weren't for sure if there might be people still inside the house that is still currently shooting,` Spurlin said, `or if somebody was injured inside the house.`

"A family member came to the house, made a gruesome discovery and called police. A short time later, all three people found inside were pronounced dead. Police say the son, who was in his mid 40's, lived with his elderly parents. Two dogs were taken away by animal control, one with a gunshot wound to its face. Both are expected to recover.

"Neighbors were shocked by the news and said they saw the elderly man often.

"`You don't meet people like that today. Nobody lends you a hand or whatever, and he would,` Kelly said.

"`Sweet loving man taking care of his family,` Josette Kelly added.

"Police believe the shooting happened earlier Saturday morning and investigators are not alone in wondering what went terribly wrong."

"WICHITA, KS — Wichita Police said a triple shooting will be investigated as a double murder suicide.

"Police were called to check the residence at 337 North Ash after a man spotted three bodies inside a converted apartment house Saturday afternoon. Officers are not looking for any suspects.

"A weapon was recovered at the scene, but its not known if that was the gun used in the shooting. So far, no names have been released. Police will release more information at Monday's briefing.

"Two women were taken downtown by a detective for questioning about the suspicious deaths.

"`They are familiar with occupants inside of the house,` said Wichita Police Cpt. Hassan Ramzah.

"Additional residents of the house are also being interviewed. A motive is not known.

"The home was converted into several apartments. A 47 year-old man called police to check the residence about noon Saturday.

"`The victims were found in the upper portion of the house,` Ramzah said. `It appears some type of disturbance may have occurred inside the residence sometime earlier in the day.`"

Unknown Weapon Used In Double Murder/Suicide

"CASPER, WY — A man with an edged weapon killed one person in Casper and a faculty member at Casper College before committing suicide on campus, police said today.

"Police found the suspect and one of the victims in a third-floor classroom in the school's physical science building after responding to a traumatic injury call shortly after 9 a.m., said Police Chief Chris Walsh. The second victim was found in the street on the Hawthorne Avenue near 39th Street.

"Walsh declined to identify the dead, pending notification of their families. He did say all three were adults, and that the suspect wasn’t a current student at the school.

"No one else was injured in the attacks.

"`It’s a troubling day,` Walsh told reporters at a press conference four hours after the attacks. `It’s a day you hope never comes into your community.`

"Police believe there was some relationship between the three dead, but Walsh did not offer any details. He said a motive for the attacks wasn't clear. The attacks don't appear to be `school-motivated,` according to a press release from city officials.

"Investigators believe the suspect acted alone. The community isn’t in any danger, Walsh said.

"Asked about reports from students that a bow and arrow were used in the attacks and suicide, Walsh said an `edged weapon` was used but wouldn't specifically identify what weapons were involved in the attacks. No firearms were used, he said.

"Police have blocked off the 3700-3800 block of Hawthorne Avenue in Casper. Late morning radio scanner traffic and on-scene reports indicated a dead body was on the street."

Elderly Shooter Kills 2 Before Committing Suicide

"TORRANCE, CA — Three people died Tuesday in what appears to be a double murder-suicide at a senior citizens' high-rise south of Los Angeles, police said.

"A man in his 80s apparently shot two women shortly after noon before turning the gun on himself in the lobby of the Golden West Tower apartments on Maricopa Street in Torrance, said Sgt. Robert Watt.

"One of the women was an employee of the apartment complex, but victim identities are being withheld until next of kin is notified, Watt said.

"Witness Arturo Ramirez, who works at the Golden West Towers, told the Los Angeles Times he locked himself in an office to call 911 after seeing a man who lived in the facility holding a gun.

"Ramirez said he heard one of the women killed say, `Please, no! Please!` and then heard two gunshots. A final gunshot came a few minutes later.

"Police are still investigating the man's motive, but residents and staff from the senior center [said] that the man had been behaving erratically, and many of them were seeking to have him kicked out of the complex.

"`People knew that he was a little bit off,` Golden Tower employee Alex Galindo told the TV station. `People were warned, but nobody did anything, so I know there's going to be blood on a lot of people's hands. That's all I can say at this point.`

"A handgun was recovered at the scene.

"Watt said the building's management had received complaints about the alleged shooter but police were never alerted.

"Officers responded to a home in the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue in Lancaster just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday on a report of shots fired.

"Detectives say responding officers found three people shot at the scene. A man and a woman were pronounced dead on the scene and a second man was transported to Fairfield Medical Center where he later died. Detectives believe all three died of gunshot wounds.

"A neighbor says she heard a woman scream and then some popping noises, which were followed by police sirens. She says the neighborhood is usually a quiet place.

"The daughter of two of the deceased persons [said] her father, Kevin Adams, arrived at the home to find her mother, Stephanie Adams with her boyfriend. Their daughter says they recently divorced. The identity of the third male is not being released at this time.

"Detectives are not releasing any other details at this time but say that the crime scene is very large."

"MIDDLETOWN, IN — Authorities say they believe a man fatally shot his ex-wife and her male companion in a rural Henry County residence early today before taking his own life.

"Ruth Webb, 38, and Robert Morrow, 42, both of Markleville, were found dead in Webb's home, said a news release from Indiana State Police. Henry County Sheriff Butch Baker said police found the pair dead in the home after someone placed a 911 call about 1:30 a.m. today reporting trouble there.The home is in the 6400 block of North Henry County Road 200 West.

"Shortly after 7:30 a.m., police found Webb's ex-husband—Johnny Webb, 39, Middletown—dead of what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a white van in the area of County Road 850 North and 300 West, police said.

"According to a State Police news release, `the preliminary investigation is that Johnny Webb, the ex-husband of Ruth Webb, went to her home at 6462 CR 200 West and shot Ruth Webb and Robert Morrow, then took his own life a short time later. The investigation is ongoing.`"

"The call came in at 12:25 p.m. this afternoon, Payne told reporters. Deputies responded to the Testa residence at 452 Gianna Way in Saint Augustine’s Coronado neighborhood; off Wildwood Drive.

"Upon entry, the officers found three victims; Gregory Testa and his parents, 87-year-old Joyce E Testa and 90-year-old Raymond Testa. All three apparently died from gunshot wounds; a suspected double murder-suicide."

"ST LOUIS, MO — The Major Case Squad is investigating the deaths of a mother and two children in a Glendale home in an apparent murder-suicide today.

"The woman's husband called 911 at 10:57 a.m. to report a murder-suicide at the home on 740 Hawbrook Avenue, said Glendale Police Sgt. Bob Catlett.

"The woman and the couple's two children, ages 11 and 9, were found dead from gunshots, he said. The mother was pronounced dead at the scene. Her son was pronounced dead at St. Louis Children's Hospital and her daughter was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital.

"Authorities do not believe the woman's husband was involved in the deaths, and he is cooperating with police, Catlett said.

"The man was inside the home when he heard shots, police said.

"`He ... thought it was coming from outside, so he ran to his front door and saw that his wife was laying in the kitchen, his son was laying in a side room and his daughter was in the second story of the home,` Catlett said.

"The Major Case Squad has been activated and the St. Louis County police department's crime scene investigators are assisting.

"Catlett said he was unaware of any previous calls for service at the couple's home.

"At about 2 p.m., yellow crime-scene tape surrounded the two-story red brick structure. An American flag hung from the front door.

"`It's senseless,` Catlett said. `We certainly have avenues to help people with mental health issues.`"

Three Pronounced Dead At Scene After Argument

"LIMA, OH — A Lima man shot and killed his estranged wife and 20-year-old daughter early today in American Township before turning the gun on himself, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s office.

"At 4 a.m., Randy Glenn, 45, entered the home of his estranged wife, Carlin Glenn, 46, at 9 Beaumont Place. The couple’s two children, Andrea, 20, and a son, 17, were spending the night at the house Wednesday night. Authorities said Mr. Glenn shot his daughter in her mother’s home, and Ms. Glenn in the driveway of 8 Beaumont Place, where she had fled to ask for help. Mr. Glenn then returned to his wife’s house, where he committed suicide.

"All three victims were pronounced dead on the scene, said Chief Deputy Jim Everett, of the sheriff’s office. The victims’ bodies were transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s office, which is set to perform autopsies Friday.

"The couple’s son, whose name was not released, was home at the time of the shootings but escaped unharmed. He was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center by the American Township Fire Department.

"The sheriff’s office had responded to domestic disputes at the home before. Chief Everett said the killings were likely the result of an argument."

"PANAMA CITY, FL — Panama City police are investigating the shooting deaths of three people inside a Glenwood area home last night. They believe its a double murder and a suicide,

"Police received calls reporting gunshots shortly before ten Tuesday at a home near the intersection of Bonita and East 8th Court. When officers arrived they found three adults dead from gunshot wounds.

"A weapon was recovered from the scene. At this time police say the incident may be domestic, they say there is no reason to believe anyone else was involved.

"The three deceased were identified as: Marco L. Bostwick, 40 years of age, Angelina M. Brunson, 43 years of age, and Mary L. Richardson, 83 years old.

"Investigators say Marco Bostwick and Angelia Brunson are a couple and have a child together.

"The investigation so far reveals the deceased were shot inside the residence and that the incident was domestic violence related.

"Brunson and her Aunt, Richardson, lived at the home, 907 East 8th Court where the shootings took place; Bostwick was living on the same property in an adjacent structure and was in a relationship with Brunson.

"BROOKLYN, NY — A 7-year-old boy and two adults who were shot to death were discovered by police officers on Tuesday inside a Brooklyn apartment in what detectives are investigating as a possible murder-suicide, a police spokesman said.

"The officers responded to a call around midnight of `foul odor` emanating from a second-floor apartment at 749 Lafayette Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant. After gaining entry two hours later, the police found the bodies of a woman, a man and the boy. "MIAMI, FL — Police say a man shot his child's grandparents before turning the gun on himself during a dispute in a southwest Miami-Dade home Tuesday night.

"The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. at a home in the 1800 block of Southwest 70th Avenue when 34-year-old Oney Campiz was involved in an argument with 59-year-old Martha Kim Jo and 55-year-old Leonardo Diaz, Miami-Dade Police said.

"Campiz has a 4-year-old child with Edelind Subarnaba, the daughter of Jo and Diaz, police said.

"Police say Campiz shot Jo and Diaz before shooting himself. Subarnaba and three children who were inside the home at the time of the shooting were able to escape unharmed, police said.

"Officers arrived and found the three bodies.

"Neighbors said they had seen some of the family about 10 minutes before the shooting happened and were shocked that the couple was killed.

"`I'm scared and surprised,` said Lizet Gonzalez, who has lived next door to the couple about three years. `I'm sad...because I wouldn't expect that.`"
