"SOUTH HAVEN, IN — When police arrested William Albrecht, officers found a letter in his home saying he was going to kill his girlfriend and himself.

"Albrecht admitted to having suicidal thoughts and to writing the letter, discovered around 7 p.m. Friday in his apartment in the 700 block of Heritage Road when police investigated a complaint made by the 39-year-old Hammond woman. However, despite the presence of two bullet holes in his living room floor, he denied threatening her.

"The girlfriend told police Albrecht, 49, had not taken his antidepressant medication for the past couple days and was acting crazy so, on Thursday, she threatened to leave him. Albrecht then shot a gun in her direction and destroyed her cell phone when she tried to call police, she said.

"On Friday, she said, she went back to Albrecht’s home to try to work things out, according to the police report. Instead, they again started arguing and he reportedly threatened to take her life and his own if she left him.

"Police arrested Albrecht for felony intimidation and took 10 shotguns, a 9mm pistol and assorted ammunition from the home for safekeeping. Additional charges of criminal recklessness with a firearm and interfering with the reporting of a crime are expected to be filed."

Argument Is Fatal For Couple

"FLORIDA CITY, FL — A distraught man reportedly took the life of his wife in front of her Florida City home before turning the gun on himself.

"Sunday evening, just after 7:30 p.m., Apolinar Piedra, 43, confronted 36-year old Valencia Piedra in the driveway of her home in the 18500 block of SW 355 Terrace. As the two argued, police say Apolinar Piedra pulled out a gun and gunned down his wife. He then drove off.

"A short time later police found his body slumped in a vehicle pulled off to the side of the road at SW 344th Street and U.S.1. Investigators said he had taken his own life.

"Police have not said what the two argued about or what may have caused Piedra to kill his wife."

Family Members Find Bodies

"COUNTRY WALK, FL — A married couple was found shot dead Sunday in a Country Walk home in what appeared to be a murder-suicide, according to Miami-Dade police.

"Police got a call about 6:30 p.m. of shots fired at a home at 14502 SW 139th Ave. Circle East, police spokeswoman Rosanna Cordero-Stutz said. Emergency units arrived and found a husband and wife inside, both with gunshot wounds.

"`Apparently, he shot her and then turned the gun on himself,` Cordero-Stutz said.
Members of the couple’s family were in the home at the time and heard the gunfire, she said; however, they did not see what happened because the husband and wife were alone in the bedroom when the shots were fired.

"It was the family members who discovered the bodies.

"Police identified the couple as Luis and Mireya Irigoyen. He was 69. She was 65.
Cordero-Stutz said it was too early to know the motive behind the shootings."

One Survives Attempted Triple Murder/Suicide

"CHARLESTON, TN — Deputies searched the home where three people were fatally shot and a fourth was seriously wounded Friday.

"Bradley County Sheriff's spokesman Bob Gault says Charles Boling Sr., 67, Gail Boling, 65, and their son, Charles Boling Jr., 47, were shot and killed inside Boling Jr's home. Gault said Boling Sr. shot and killed his wife and son before turning the gun on himself Friday morning.

"Gault says Boling's wife had traveled from their Etowah home Thursday night to stay with their son and his friend.

"The son's friend, who neighbors have identified as Kenneth Kilgore, 33, and also lived in the home, was flown to Erlanger with multiple gunshot wounds. Gault says he was in intensive care at last check.

"Deputies were called to the home at 325 Baker Bridge Road shortly before 7:00 a.m. They discovered the bodies when they arrived at the home.

"Neighbors [said] the property is owned by Charles Boling Jr., a man they describe as a `nice guy`.

"Investigators say a number of weapons were found inside the home and have been sent to a lab as forensic evidence. The victims' bodies have been taken to the UT Forensic Center for autopsies.

"Investigators remain at the scene, they don't believe anyone else was involved in the shooting."

Police Won't Comment On Motive In Double Murder/Suicide

"BEEVILLE, TX — Authorities in Bee County have identified 30-year-old Billy Coy Lowe as the man who shot and killed a couple, and injured their daughter this morning.

"When deputies arrived they found Lowe, 52-year-old Kennie Rodgers, and 49-year-old Retha Rodgers dead at a home north of Beeville. The Rodgers 25-year-old daughter, Reshay, was injured in the shooting and is now hospitalized in Corpus Christi. A 15-month-old child at the home was not injured.

"Bee County Sheriff's office investigators say Reshay Rodgers ran from the home to alert police about the shooting.

"It's believed Lowe shot and killed the couple inside the house before shooting himself in the head.

"Authorities would not comment on a possible motive for the shooting."
