SWAT Finds Would-Be Killer Dead
"MESA, AZ — Mesa police say a woman is dead after firing a gun at a neighbor, then barricading herself in her apartment Saturday.
"Around 10 a.m., Mesa police received a call from a man who said a woman from his complex near Stapley Drive and Southern Avenue, had pointed a handgun at him when he answered the front door.
"The woman had fired a round at the man but missed, said Mesa police detective Mike Melendez. The man was able to close and lock the door, while the woman was seen retreating to her apartment, he said.
"As police arrived, they heard a gunshot coming from the woman's apartment. Nearby apartments were evacuated as more police and SWAT team officers arrived.
"Around 12:30 p.m., police broke into the apartment, where they found a 52-year-old woman dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
"According to neighbors, the woman often acted irrationally, appearing agitated and shouting at people in the complex for no reason, Melendez said.
"The woman's identity has not yet been released.
"Police are investigating."

I would've let this one slide but Arizona's been quiet all month.
ReplyDeleteToo quiet.
How sad that the loss of a human being, yes , she was a mother and daughter, would be something you would just let slide. Indicative of the sad state of our society
ReplyDeleteI agree with Anonymous. You do not know the whole story, as it was not reported, or the torment that she endured that lead up to this tragic moment for all involved. I knew this LADY and she was beautiful, inside and out. She spent most of her life caring for others. My sympathy to her family and all those that loved her. She will be missed. This world will a little more colder and lonelier without her in it.

as beautiful as you."
