"An Insane Husband"
"KOCHI, Japan - The bodies of a 59-year-old man and his wife were found after a fire in their home Tuesday morning in an apparent murder suicide.
"Yoshimori Nakanishi and his wife Sanae, 51, were found on the second floor of the three story building with abdominal wounds inflicted by a bladed weapon. According to police, the house was locked at the time of the fire and there were no signs of forced entry. Furthermore, there was a history of domestic violence between the couple and police are investigating the case as a murder-suicide.
"Police have stated that the Kochi District Court issued a restraining order against Yoshimori in October 2008 under anti-domestic violence laws, forbidding him from approaching Sanae for six months, during which time they lived apart.
"According to the Kochi municipal health care center and police, Sanae called the mental health consulting service at the center and spoke to a nurse around 9 a.m., just before the outbreak of the fire. During the conversation the nurse heard Sanae scream `Stop, stop!` after which she could not hear Sanae's voice. Alarmed, the nurse notified another staff member of the call and they both drove to the Nakanishi home. However, the fire had already started by the time they arrived.
"Local residents have said that, after the restraining order expired in April, the couple resumed living together. Furthermore, Sanae was usually in a state of anguish over Yoshimori's violent behavior and told neighbors he was `an insane husband,` and she once appeared with a bruise over her eye. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the couple in good spirits while walking their dog just after 6 a.m. on the morning of the fire, and that Yoshimori said that, `Today is the day I go to the hospital.`"

Crime Scene Not A Pretty Sight
"Shelby County, TN - Crime tape surrounds the home at 3947 Charles Bartlett.
"Inside, detectives say it isn't a pretty sight.
"It's where they found 41-year-old Lisa Joyner dead and her 39-year-old friend, Scotty Uselton, injured.
"They had both been shot in the home, which sits in a field secluded from the main street. It's so secluded that neighbors never heard anything.
"`The house is so far off the road, you can't even see the house from the road. Every once and a while you might see a car come in or out,` says neighbor Mickey Miller.
"Deputies say 71 year old Victor Turosky was the gunman.
"They say he had apparently been drinking with Joyner and Uselton earlier in the evening when they got into an argument.
"Sometime around 3am Turosky came back.
"`A man barged into the home. There was a struggle, a confrontation and there was a shooting, just on his part apparently,` says Steve Shular, with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.
"A short time later, the Sheriff's Department got a call of another shooting near Victor Turosky's home.
"They went to a wooded area and found Turosky dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound. Deputies say he had just been released from a Millington jail for a DUI.
"`From what I understand, it's all domestic. Everybody knew everybody. That relieves us a little bit. There again, it's still kinda close to home, makes us a little nervous you know.` says Miller.
"Detectives aren't saying what the three had been arguing about.
"They may be able to get some answers from Scotty Uselton. He is in fair condition at the hospital."

Room Attendant Makes Grisly Discovery
"Oklahoma City, OK - Investigators say the bodies of a man and woman found shot to death in a north Oklahoma City motel are the result of a murder/suicide.
"Police say they believe 22-year-old Luis Miguel Avendano of Louisiana shot and killed a woman in the room before turning the gun on himself.
"Detectives said they believe the man and woman were involved in a relationship, but they are not releasing her name until they can notify her next of kin.
"Homicide detectives were called to a Best Western Memorial Inn and Suite Tuesday afternoon, after the bodies were discovered by a room attendant, police Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.
"Investigators said there was no indication the woman was forced into the room against her will, but at some point, during the stay at the motel, detectives say Avendano become angry with her and shot her to death before committing suicide."

"Family Issues" Preceded Murder/Suicide
"ATHENS, TX — For the second time in less than a month, Henderson County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an apparent murder suicide where a estranged wife was killed by her husband.
"Sheriff Ray Nutt said deputies were dispatched to 11276 Loop 60 in LaRue in reference to a shooting about 4:30 p.m. Monday.
"`When they got there they found a female victim who had been shot and witnesses said a white male had run into the woods armed with a rifle and a handgun,` he said. Nutt said deputies quickly formed a perimeter and were awaiting a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter and dogs from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice to assist in tracking the suspect.
"`Before they got there, we found our shooter’s body in the house next door. He evidently shot and killed himself,` he said.
"Nutt said the woman, 22-year-old Kristi Morris, had been staying in a safe house as she hid from her husband, 26-year-old Matthew Morris.
"`They have been having some family issues and had been separated. We don’t know why she came back to the area, but we do know that Anderson County has been looking for him to serve him with a protective order,` he said.
"Nutt said both bodies have been sent for autopsy and investigators are piecing together what happened."

"Many are talking about David Pippin, 46, and his past criminal record.

"A Pretty Sad Deal"
"Henryville, IN - A Henryville husband and wife were found dead in their home after 8 p.m. Monday evening in an apparent murder-suicide, police say.
"Richard and Phyllis Ireland, of 932 Twin Oaks Drive in Henryville, may have both agreed to end their lives, Clark County Sheriff Danny Rodden said. He said the man used a handgun to shoot his wife in the back and then himself in the chest.
"`They kind of did it together,` he said. `It almost looked like it was a consensual thing.`
"Rodden said the woman wrote a letter to their children Sunday night. He said the children were grown and no longer live with their parents.
"He said the couple was going through a difficult time financially. They both had lost their jobs and were recently told they would have to go through an eviction process and would lose the house where they had lived for five years.
"`It was a pretty sad deal,` Rodden said."
