Little Bait Shop Of Horrors

"FRUITLAND PARK, FL - A husband and wife who owned a bait-and-tackle shop in this small Lake County city died tonight in a murder-suicide, police said.

"The couple, who were estranged, got into an argument and he shot her, then turned the gun on himself, said Mark Isom, Fruitland Park director of public safety.

"Isom did no release names. But public records show Cain Pole South Bait and Tackle is owned by Ronnie and Tonya Warren. Last month, Tonya Warren asked a court for a protective injunction against her husband. A hearing was set for June 2.

"Isom said the man who did the shooting had threatened his wife, and she was afraid of him. But she went to their business with relatives to take inventory because the two were going through a divorce, Isom said. She notified law-enforcement officials, he said. Lake County court records do not show that the couple had filed for divorce.

"The man worked all day, and the two argued in a back office about 7:40 p.m., police said. Initial reports were that witnesses heard two shots, then a separate third shot at the shop at 3337 U.S. Highway 441.

"The couple have a young son togehter who will live with family members, Isom said."
