Nosy Neighbors Make Gruesome Discovery

"SAN DIEGO, CA - The death of a couple inside a Miramar Ranch North residence is being investigated Wednesday as a possible murder-suicide, police said.

"Friends of the deceased, a man and a woman, went to their home in the 11200 block of Golden Birch Way, near Chaffinch Court, about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday because the couple had not shown up at a church event, said San Diego police Lt. Kevin Rooney.

"Along with a neighbor, the friends looked into the windows of the residence and spotted the woman's body, Rooney said, adding that firefighters rushed to the scene, forced their way inside and found the two bodies.

"`Both the man and the woman had traumatic injuries,` Rooney said, and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

"A handgun was recovered near the man's body, Rooney said. He said the incident was being investigated as a possible murder-suicide."
