Bizarre Tale Of Two Church Ladies

"ABILENE, TX - Police in Abilene, Texas are investigating a bizarre murder-suicide that left a local pastor and one of the parishioners dead.

"They're currently looking at clues left behind in the alleged killer's online journals.

"Words like `pain`, `hurt` and `anger` are found all over an online journal where Bobby Allan L'Aloge documents his transition from being a man into a woman called Renata Antoniette Monet.

"The site is full of contradictions. In one part Monet praises women, calling them wonderful and optimistic. Further down he says he imagined mutilating women at the age of 10.

"Just recently, he posted several pictures of dead female bodies that had been tortured.

"Monet also appears to be confused about his identity - referring to himself in third person and writing about himself as a she/he.

"Monet was a member of the Unity Church in Abilene.

"61-year old Karen Johnson, a minister at Unity, was found dead inside Monet's home on Caldwell Road this weekend. Monet's body was nearby.

"Investigators say he hung himself.

"Police aren't releasing many details, saying they want to protect Johnson's family and friends for as long as possible."

"A deputy and a Madelia police officer arrived and were told shots had been fired in the basement of the home. They entered the home and found a person lying at the bottom of the basement steps.

"They then discovered two more people had been shot and killed in the basement, a 25-year-old woman and a 59-year-old man.

"Deputies say the suspect, a 28-year-old man, had just been released from jail on Jan. 14 and was not supposed to be at the home. They believe he had an argument with the woman at the home and then shot her and her step-father before shooting himself.

"Three other people in the home, an adult woman and two kids, ages 15 and 2, were not hurt.

"Investigators say the suspect was charged in December with domestic abuse against the woman he shot. He was released on bail on Dec. 21, 2009. On Jan. 5, he was again arrested for violating his no contact order. He appeared in court and was released after posting bail on Jan. 14.

"The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the State Crime Lab are helping with the investigation.

"Watonwan County says the names of all three people who died will be released on Monday. Lewisville and Antrim Township are about 35 miles southwest of Mankato."

"More Than A Fire"

"PORTERVILLE, CA - Porterville firefighters responding to a fire on East Date Street near B Street Friday night made a grisly discovery — an apparent murder-suicide.

"To the sound of smoke alarms ringing, firefighters entered a smoke filled residence just before 9:40 p.m. on the third floor of Porterville Family Apartments and found three juveniles — aged 6, 5 and 1 — in stable condition.

"While firefighters looked for the source of the fire— which was later determined to be the result of dinner cooking on the stove— they found the dead bodies of two adults.

"`The fire department soon thereafter determined that it was more than a fire,` City Manager John Lollis said.

"Porterville Police department detectives who were subsequently called to the scene determined that the gunshot wounds on the adult victims were the result of a murder-suicide, according to spokesman Sgt. Jake Castellow.

"Their determination is `based on information provided from witnesses, and evidence being collected at the scene, as well as information provided by the three children,` spokesman Sgt. Jake Castellow said.

"The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of kin, and as of press time, their ages had not been determined. It was also unknown as of press time who may have been at fault for the murder.

"The three children were taken to Sierra View District Hospital and will be placed into protective custody."

Gruesome Murder/Suicide In Kansas

"LIBERAL, KS - The Liberal couple found dead Wednesday night had been laying lifelessly on their bloody bed for four days before authorities found them.

"Local coroner Hubert Peterson announced Friday Jose Angel Rodriguez, Jr., killed his wife, Alicia, and then took his own life in their house at 1233 Krause Court.

"Alicia Rodriguez was smothered to death by a pillow. After her killing, Jose Rodriguez took a small circular skill saw and cut both his legs vertically along the femur bone from his thighs to below his knees, said Peterson. Jose
Rodriguez bled to death.

"`The door had just been broken into on the bedroom (by authorities),` said Peterson. `It was locked. The couple were lying on the bed, side by side. There was a pillow by the side of her (Alicia) head used with the suffocation.`

"Upon entering the room for the first time, Peterson said Alicia Rodriguez was covered with a comforter. Her husband was laying uncovered next to her, the skill saw by his side.

"Because of the type of injury, Peterson said this was the most unusual case he had ever seen. The bedroom temperature was in the lower 60's and since the room had been sealed off, the bodies were well preserved for the autopsy investigation. The cool temperatures lead there to be no smell, said Peterson.

"Peterson's investigation revealed the couple had been dead since Saturday afternoon or Saturday evening.

"The family had been reported missing to the Liberal Police Department since Wednesday. The couple had not been seen since Saturday."

Birthday Surprise

"MIDDLEBURG, FL — A 23-year-old Clay County woman was fatally shot on her birthday today in an apparent murder-suicide involving her 51-year-old father, investigators said.

"Andrea Langevin was found by her sister in their Middleburg home on Tina Lane in the Greenwood subdivision. Her father, Dennis Langevin, was found by deputies in the backyard next door. A shotgun was found with his body, said Sgt. Wayne McKinney of the Sheriff's Office.

"A brother also lives there. It's unclear if the brother and sister were home at the time. The children's mother recently moved out of the home, where there had been some marital problems, detectives said.

"The motive for the incident remains unclear. Clay court records show that foreclosure proceedings had been ongoing on the home. The Sheriff's Office said Dennis Langevin was employed at the Orange Pak Country Club.

"Deputies were called by the sister about 8:15 a.m. after the attack.

"A neighbor, Danielle Mabey, said she knew the family well and always thought the father and daughter got along. She said the daughter graduated a few years ago from Ridgeview High School.

"`She was a great person, a very happy person,` said Mabey, 21. `He was a wonderful father. It's just depressing.`

"Next door neighbor Keith Altizer, 51, said police were at the home at least once a year ago during what he was told was a drug investigation. Otherwise, he said there's been no trouble.

"`You don't expect it would be the people next door,` Altizer said. `It's unnerving.`"
