Argument Preceded Attempted Murder/Suicide

"JACKSON, TN - Jackson police are on the scene of a double shooting on Daugherty Street. Assistant Police Chief Larry Price said a young man shot himself and a woman after an argument.

"The man was in a car in front of apartments at 504 Daugherty St. when the shooting occured at 4:29 p.m., according to Capt. Mike Holt.

"Holt said the man called the woman over to the car where he shot her and then shot himself.

"The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman was taken to a local hospital. Holt said the woman is in `very critical` condition.

"No names have been released pending notification of their families."
