2 Dead After Dispute In Nissan Altima
"CORAL GABLES, FL - A man was pronounced dead Sunday and a woman died after she was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital following a shooting in Coral Gables.
"The shooting took place about 2 p.m. in the 300 block of Catalonia Avenue, said Sgt. Janette Frevola, a Coral Gables police spokeswoman.
"Police did not immediately identify the man, 31, or the woman, 33.
"Investigators said the couple had been dating, and were involved in a dispute in a gray or silver Nissan Altima. When the woman got out of the car and began to run away, the man shot her and then shot himself. His body lay sprawled, covered by a yellow tarp, on a driveway near the street. Police blocked access to the area.
"The shooting occurred a block from the Coral Gables police station.
"Numerous small cones dotted the street, indicating the locations of shell casings.
"Miami-Dade County homicide detectives arrived at the scene, and their investigation was continuing Sunday night.
"Police Chief Rich Naue said no additional information was available."
