Body Found In Quarry

"Lebanon, MO - New details have emerged surrounding the deaths of three people in Lebanon Friday.

"30-year-old Sheila Johnson and her 11-year-old son Blake were found dead in separate rooms in their house in the 19000 block of Goldenwood.

"An eight-year-old boy was found alive and safe there.

"Some hours later, the body of their husband and father, Todd Johnson, was found in his car at the bottom of quarry.

"Meanwhile, the Laclede County Sheriff's Office is searching for answers.

"Sometime after 5 a.m. Friday, Todd Johnson sent an e-mail to his brother who was vacationing in the Caribbean.

"In the e-mail, Todd asked his brother to take care of his two sons and his finances.

"Todd's brother notified a friend of the family who stopped by the house.

"That person woke up the eight-year-old son, who at that moment discovered his mother and brother were dead.

"Three weapons were discovered in Sheila's room.

"At that point the authorities were notified and began searching for Todd.

"Sheriff Richard Wrinkle says Todd used a 20-gauge shotgun to shoot himself in the head while driving into the quarry sometime Friday.

"All three bodies were taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield Saturday where autopsies were conducted.

"Those autopsies show Blake and Sheila died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck.

"Todd's death was an apparent suicide, although more investigation is needed to be sure.

"Sheriff Wrinkle says he's fairly certain who killed Blake and Sheila.

"`Everything points right now as to where he was the person that was responsible for both deaths and then committed suicide.`"
