Death On Sand Mountain

"TRENTON, GA - A couple and two dogs were found dead on Sand Mountain in Dade County, Ga., on Friday evening in what authorities said was apparently a murder-suicide.

"Dade County deputies responded at approximately 9 p.m. to a shooting at 839 Saddle Club Road.

"When deputies arrived on the scene they discovered a male and a female deceased.

"The Dade County Sheriff's Office said the investigation has indentifed the man as 51-year-old Clifford Hubbard of Florida, and the female as 46-year-old Cynthia Harris of Dade County.

"Major Jackie Womack said, `At this point in the preliminary investigation, it appears that Mr. Hubbard shot Ms. Harris and two dogs before turning the gun on himself.`

"Investigators finished processing the scene at approximately 4 a.m.

"The bodies have been transported to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy."
