Brother And Sister Are Victims Of Unknow Shooter

"BUTLER, MO - A brother and sister were fatally shot, an 8-year-old girl suffered facial injuries and the apparent shooter committed suicide early Friday morning in Butler.

"Police received a call at around 5 a.m. near Fort Scott Road and Broadway Street about the shooting. When they arrived, officers said they found a 25-year-old man dead in the street and a 29-year-old woman shot inside of a house. The woman was later pronounced dead at Bates County Memorial Medical Center. Police said the two victims were brother and sister.

"An 8-year-old girl, the daughter of the female victim, suffered facial wounds from bullet fragments, police said.

"Police said the suspect fled the scene of the shooting, but officers later found the man dead in his pickup truck, of an apparent self-inflicted gun shot wound.

"Police are investigating the relationship of the victims to the shooter."
