Kids Safe, Parents DEAD

"HOUSTON, TX - A couple died in a murder-suicide on Tuesday, police [said].

"Houston police said Juan Perez shot 33-year-old Fortunata Aguirre Cardenas before turning the gun on himself in the 8500 block of Broadway Street at about 3:30 a.m.

"Four children, ages 4 to 12, were present during the killings, investigators said. They ran to a neighbor's apartment for help. They were not injured.

"The children told investigators that their father shot their mother and then shot himself.

"One pistol was found at the scene, police said."
