"Newspapers Were Piling Up"

"ANAHEIM, CA — A married couple was discovered shot to death inside their Anaheim apartment Sunday evening, in an apparent murder-suicide, police said.

"The apartment manager called police after neighbors said the 70-year-old man and his 58-year-old wife had not been seen in about a week and newspapers were piling up, said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez.

"At 9:30 p.m. Sunday, officers went to the apartment in the 700 block of North Euclid Street and found the couple on their living room couch. Each had at least one gunshot wound.

"A revolver was found next to the man.

"It appears the couple had been dead for several days."
