Pair Found Dead At Castle
"HAVERHILL, MA — Two people were killed in an apparent murder suicide at a park in Haverhill on Wednesday, a source told WBZ-TV.
"When investigators left the scene at Winnekenni Castle just before six o’clock Wednesday evening, they took with them the cars that earlier this afternoon were surrounded by crime tape. They are the same vehicles that were spotted by the groundskeeper’s young son and one of his friends around one this afternoon.
"Inside, were the dead bodies of a man and a woman.
"The larger park is a big draw for locals, even in the winter.
"`Normally you have people walking around, you know, with their dogs and people take their horses up here,` explains Haverhill’s Wayne Laplante. `I come up and take bird pictures all the time. It’s usually a nice place to come up to.`
"The cars where the bodies were found were two Volkswagens, one with license plates from Connecticut, the other from New Hampshire.
"There was an infant’s car seat in the back of one of the vehicles but investigators offered no details about whether or not a child was present at the time of the incident. A spokewoman for the Essex District Attorney’s office will say only that there is no threat to the general public."

Four Dead After Family Dispute
"CAMBRIDGE, MA — A retired Bedford cop shot and killed three people in his Cambridge home last night and later turned the gun on himself, according to authorities, in what prosecutors called a horrifying end to a simmering family dispute.
"`This is another horrific example of domestic violence,` Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said at a press conference last night. `We know there were disputes leading up to this—nothing leading anyone to believe anything of this magnitude would occur.`
"Leone announced a manhunt for John `Jack` Brosnahan, 67, but a short time later, about 10 p.m., authorities found a car matching the 2011 Toyota Camry he was driving parked at a boathouse on Soldiers Field Road in Brighton. Police recovered a body found in the Charles River late last night that the district attorney’s office identified as Brosnahan.
"Leone declined to identify the three people found dead in Brosnahan’s Grove Street home, but he said all were adults."
