Sheriff Rules On Death Of Elderly Couple

"YOUNG HARRIS, GA — According to a release from the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, a shooting in Young Harris last week has been ruled a murder/suicide.

"According to the release, 73 year old Janice Katherine Schultz died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds and Frank Duane Schultz, age 74, died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"The shootings occurred on Dec. 7 at a residence on 4478 Twiggs Road, where deputies responding to a shooting discovered the couple inside the residence. Mr. Schultz was transported from the scene for medical treatment, but died a short time later."
