Cops Foil Murder/Suicide Plan

"JOLIET, IL — The Joliet police helped Lockport cops avert what they believed to be a developing murder-suicide when they caught a local man walking home from a west side tavern early Friday.

"After apprehending a 41-year-old man during his short walk from the bar Just One More [Web site] to his home a few doors down on North Raynor Avenue, officers detained him until an ambulance arrived and brought him to an area hospital for an involuntary committal, according to a police report.

"The cops were on the hunt for the man after the Lockport police called Joliet to tell them he was off his medication and threatening to kill his parents and himself, the report said.

"Officers staked out a residence on Cleary Avenue and the house on Raynor Avenue where the man reportedly lives. They apparently spotted the wanted man’s Mitsubishi Eclipse parked at the Raynor Avenue house, then noticed him walking home from Just One More."

  1. What the heck, we so seldom get to use the "happy ending" tag.

Check out the Just One More Web site - it is truly horrible.
