Double Murder/Suicide Ends After High Speed Chase

"TUMWATER, WA — A 6-year-old boy has been found dead in a Spanaway home of a couple involved in a high-speed chase and suicide in Tumwater earlier Tuesday morning.

"Their other child, a 10-year-old daughter, was later found safe in Oregon, said Det. Ed. Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

"The boy's body was discovered in the family's home in the 1100 block of 178th Street Court East in Spanaway on Tuesday afternoon, Troyer said. Troyer did not have the child's identity, but said the man who committed suicide was not the child's biological father.

"Investigators said the inside of the home had signs of violence and that the boy was found dead in an upstairs bedroom.

"Tuesday morning, a fleeing driver committed suicide as a high-speed chase came to an end on Interstate 5 at Tumwater, and troopers found a woman's body in the passenger seat moments later."
