Bodies Found In Burned-Out House

"ALEDO, IL — The two people found dead after an Aledo fire and explosion last Thursday may have died in a murder-suicide, a Mercer County official said Tuesday.

"`We’re really looking at murder-suicide now,` Mercer County Coroner Ron McNall said about the deaths of Patti Jo Lindquist and Timothy Gerald Meade.

"McNall had earlier confirmed that the two were killed by gunfire.

"Lindquist and Meade were in a two-story house at 1275 200th St., along a gravel country road off Illinois 94 north of Aledo, after officers were called at 3:28 p.m. to check on the welfare of someone there.

"They found the home engulfed in flames and the bodies of Lindquist, 40, and Meade, 53.

"`They’re investigating as to how it took place and who done what, but they were both shot,` McNall said `The fire did not cause their death.`

"The coroner declined to tell the location of their gunshot wounds or where their bodies were found in the rubble after the fire was extinguished.

"Lindquist had filed an order of protection against Meade, and they were living together in the house.

"According to the order of protection filed last week in Mercer County, Lindquist claimed Meade was going to “knock her out” and he was “also going to make her watch him kill himself.”

"Those accusations from a June 30 incident were detailed in a July 2 order filed by Lindquist.

"The order also indicated the two had a dating relationship and shared the rural Aledo home. In addition, the order indicated Meade possessed shotguns, rifles and semi-automatic weapons."

"Monster Mom" Kills Kid, Botches Suicide Bid

"NEW YORK, NY — A suspected hooker who appeared to dote on her 9-year-old son suddenly snapped and bashed the boy’s head with a hammer, police sources said.

"The unthinkable crime Friday night was the city’s third child murder in as many days.

"Ex-con Tenika Revell, 40, called 911 just before 11 p.m., police said. As if she had ice in her veins, she coldly told the operator that she killed her child and had taken pills to try to end her own life, police said.

"Cops rushed to her Brooklyn apartment and found the woman alive. But her son Bernard couldn’t be saved.

"Bernard was found with bruises and lacerations to his head, police said.

"The monster mom, treated at Woodhull Hospital, was charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.

"Police sources said Revell had at least 33 prior arrests, including several for prostitution. Revell, who used several aliases, served two separate stints in prison after being convicted of attempted robbery and attempted burglary, records show.

"Police were still trying to figure out late Saturday why she killed the boy."

Breakup Ends In Murder/Suicide

"PORT ST JOHN, FL — Sheriff’s investigators say a Port St. John man killed his girlfriend and then himself, possibly because she was going to leave him.

"The bodies of Glenn Laughlin, 57, and Robin Ainsworth, 47, were found in their home at 7271 Achilles Road Friday morning. Ainsworth’s bags were packed, said Lt. Tod Goodyear, spokesman for Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

"`From what we understand they had been having problems recently,` he said.
`The scene appeared to be that she was in the process of leaving him. It looks like he shot and killed her and then turned the gun on himself.`

"Neighbor Robert Scarboro [said] that he had no notice that the couple was going on vacation and `I just had a bad feeling about it.`

"Scarboro called the sheriff’s department, whose investigators found the back door of the couple’s home unlocked and discovered the bodies.

"The home is in the same neighborhood where Tonya Thomas, a Port St. John woman, killed her four children and herself May 15. The week before those deaths, another shooting in Port St. John left one man dead and another critically wounded.

"Still, the sheriff’s department has not had a lot of major cases in that area, no more than any other neighborhood, Goodyear said.

"`You really can’t predict these domestic situations,` he said. `Here, one person decided they were going to end the relationship and the other was not willing to let them go.`"
