Person Of Interest Found Dead

"TAHLEQUAH, OK — Tahlequah Police Department is investigating death of an elderly woman on July 24, 2014, as a homicide. Police Chief Nate King says an officer conducting a welfare check in the 1200 block of West Keetoowah found 71-year-old Beverly Marshall dead inside her home.

"Detectives found four small wounds on her body, King said. The next day, the state Medical Examiner’s Office said those wounds were made by a small caliber handgun.

"Marshall had been shot in the upper torso and head.

"Authorities say a person of interest developed during their investigation was found dead Friday night by Cherokee County Sheriff’s deputies. King says that person, who was not identified, is believed to have committed suicide."

  1. Beverly (my mother in law) was a wonderful lady and didn't deserve to die in a tragedy like this one. Always had a smile in her face. She thought she could help him but he couldn't just let her be happy. We will truly miss her and we love her deeply. Those who knew her would never call her elderly as she was more active than most people in their upper 30's or 40. She had only one child, my wife Kimberly, who has taken this very hard.
