Women Found Dead In Boarded-Up Home
"SAN ANTONIO, TX — A mother and daughter were found dead on the East Side in what San Antonio police said is an apparent murder/suicide.
"According to a San Antonio police report, officers were contacted by a relative Sunday morning who had not heard from the women in days and saw both their vehicles parked outside a home in the 1300 block of Delaware Street.
"Officers arrived and saw the relative taking off the front burglar door to go inside. The report stated officers could immediately smell a foul odor coming from inside the house.
"Once the burglar door was removed, officers realized the door was boarded shut from the inside. San Antonio firefighters were then called to help officers get into the home. Firefighters removed an A/C unit and a fireman crawled inside to remove the board.
"Officers made their way inside and found both women in a room laying on the same bed with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to their heads, the release stated. A small revolver that appeared to be used in the incident was on the floor next to the bed, the release stated.
"Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate. Police said the older woman was 61 and the younger woman was 37. Police had not released their names as of 11 a.m. Monday but did say the mother shot and killed her daughter before turning the gun on herself."
