One Dead, One Serious In Workplace Shooting

"AUGUSTA, GA - According to Sgt. Calvin Chew, with the Richmond County Sheriff's Office (RCSO), on Tuesday morning at approximately 7:00 a.m., RCSO responded to 1430 Marvin Griffin Road in reference to a shooting in the parking lot with two subjects shot. Upon arrival, deputies located Alfonicia Oneal Gilbert, 35, of the 2800 block of King Street, in Augusta, deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the right side of his head.

"Tiffany Shantee Wilson, 28, of the 200 block of Claxton Road, in Girard, Georgia was also found in her vehicle shot once in the head and was transported to MCG Hospital where she is in serious but stable condition and is expected to survive her injury.

"During the course of the investigation, it is learned that Gilbert is Wilson’s estranged boyfriend and they have two children together. Gilbert followed Wilson to her place of employment where he blocked her vehicle in with his vehicle. Gilbert then exited his vehicle, firing at least three times through the driver’s side window of Wilson’s vehicle, striking her once in the head. Gilbert then turned the gun on himself."

Teen Finds Mom Dead In Yard

"UNIONVILLE, VA - The Orange County Sheriff's Office responded to a 7:30 a.m. call Saturday to find an apparent murder-suicide at 24307 Independence Road in Unionville.

"Vickie Davenport, 44, was found by her teenage daughter face down in her yard, the victim of a gunshot wound, according to Sheriff Mark Amos.

"Deputies searching the property later found David Mesimer, 46, the victim of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. A .22-caliber rifle was beside his body.

"`We're assuming it's the same weapon that killed Davenport,` said Amos.

"The time of death has not been determined and Davenport was last seen by her daughter about 1 a.m.

"Mesimer was described as being Davenport's live-in boyfriend.

"`We been out there several times on domestic calls,` said Amos.

"Davenport's body was found about 20 feet from her front porch, said Amos. Mesimer's body was found 60 to 70 yards away in the garden.

"After finding Davenport's body, deputies searched the adjoining woodlands for a possible killer before finding Mesimer."
