Woman Beaten, Husband And Child Found Dead In Woods

"ROSWELL, GA — The bodies of a missing 4-year-old boy and his father were found in a wooded area in Roswell, behind the Aspen Point Apartments off Old Holcomb Bridge Road Friday.

"`The scene was characterized as there was a grave,` said Roswell police Chief Rusty Grant. `I'm not sure it was a shallow grave or to what extent the child was in a grave.`

"Thursday afternoon, police responded to the 200 block of 260 Old Holcomb Bridge Way.

"Inside an apartment, police found Sandra Rivera Ruiz alive but unresponsive.

"`We believe she may have been strangled and also had facial injuries,` said Grant.

"Ruiz was taken to North Fulton Hospital in serious condition.

"Police then discovered her 4-year-old son, Jesus Dominguez, was missing.

"He was believed to be with his father, Carlos Alberto Dominguez. Police said Carlos Dominguez was the suspect in this case.

"`We realized after further investigation that the child could be in danger,` Grant said.

"The bodies of the child and man have not been positively identified as Jesus and Carlos Dominguez, however, police said they appear to be them.

"The bodies were found about a half-mile away from the home where the child was taken, in a wooded area.

"Roswell police believe Carlos Dominguez killed himself after he killed his own child.

"Investigators are waiting for Ruiz's condition to improve so they can talk to her."

Deadly End To "Perfect Relationship"

"MOUNT PLEASANT, SC — The fiance of a missing South Carolina woman was seen leaving the woods where her SUV was found carrying a shovel, police say.

"Witnesses positively identified David Hedrick, 34, as leaving the woodland where Dara Lee Watson's burnt out SUV was found, police told a news conference yesterday.

"Hedrick committed suicide by shooting himself in their Mount Pleasant, South Carolina home on Friday, hours after his 30-year-old accountant girlfriend was reported missing.

"Friends said the couple had 'the perfect relationship'.

"The pretty brunette was last seen by her mother on February 6. Watson's boss and sister both received text messages from her on February 8, although police now believe they were sent by Hedrick, WCBD TV reported.

"On Monday, locals reported what appeared to be fresh digging about 10 miles from the scene where Watson's SUV was found.

"A forensic team are investigating, but police told the local station that the uprooted soil seems to be unrelated to Watson's disappearance.

"Police found Hedrick dead from a self-inflicted gunshot on Saturday at 12.45 a.m. He had previously told Mount Pleasant police officers the pair had argued on Monday night and Watson had left their home on Tuesday morning.

"Charleston County Coroner, Rae Wooten, confirmed during a news conference yesterday that David Hedrick's death was a suicide.

"He did not leave a suicide note and police believe he took knowledge of Dara's whereabouts with him when he died."

Police Suspect Murder/Suicide In Deaths Of Mother & Son

"CRYSTAL SPRINGS, MS — Police believe Jason Bailey killed his mother.

"Authorities found Bailey's body inside a home on Lee Avenue on Saturday. They say his body was badly decomposed and was on the couch. They believe he had been dead for almost a week. On Tuesday, police found the body his mother, Judy Greer, 62, in a shallow grave behind the home. Authorities say both mother and son lived in that home. They believe Greer had been dead for no more than three weeks.

"Detective Chris Palmer says the pair had a history of domestic abuse. He says police have been called out to the home at least four times in the past year. Palmer says Greer never followed through on the complaints and always ended up dropping the domestic violence charges against his mother. Since 1996, Bailey has been in and out of jail on burglary and drug possession convictions. He was last released in December 2006.

"Authorities say they are waiting for autopsy reports for an official cause of death. They say there was no trauma to any of the bodies. They are now waiting for toxicology reports which they hope to have within the next week."
