Bodies Found During Welfare Check

"FORT WAYNE, IN — The deaths of a man and woman found last week in the bedroom of a Huntertown home have officially been declared a homicide/suicide.

"Concerned family and a co-worker arrived last Thursday at the home at 12004 Wandering Way and found 39-year-old David T. Wehrle dead from at least one gunshot, according to the Allen County Sheriff's Department and the coroner's office.

"In the room with him was 49-year-old Linette Pass, also dead from one or more gunshot wounds, the coroner's office said.

"The two were identified last week by the coroner's office, but investigators were trying to determine who pulled the trigger.

"The coroner's office ruled Pass' death a suicide and Wehrle's death a homicide, implying she killed him before taking her own life.

"Both Wehrle and Pass were listed as owners of the home, according to Allen County property tax records.

"Wehrle was not at work for several days, which prompted family and a co-worker to go to the home to check on him."
