Wife-Killer Commits Suicide In Motel
"SODDY DAISY, TN — The search for a man suspected of killing his wife has ended after he took his own life.
"Since Sunday morning, Hamilton County Sheriff deputies were looking for Terry Releford, 34, of Soddy Daisy. Deputies believed Releford killed his wife who has been identified as Tammi Releford, 35.
"The man hunt began when authorities were called to the couples' home on 8912 Lovell Road. When deputies entered the home, they found Tammy Releford dead from blunt force trauma to the head. Her husband had already left the scene.
"According to a sheriff's report, Terry Releford bound his wife's two children from a previous relationship, before killing his pregnant wife. One of the children managed to break free and call for help.
"Authorities said the children were uninjured during the event.
"Deputies spent the entire day searching for the victim's husband and were able to locate him in Gordon County Georgia where he was holding up in a hotel. By Monday morning, Hamilton County deputies along with Gordon County authorities moved on the suspects location where they found him already dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
"`The weapon that was used as part of the original crime was the weapon that he took his life with,` said the Sheriff Hammond."
