Four Bodies Found In Car Parked On Secluded Road

"DOUBLE SPRINGS, AL — Sheriff’s officials say the people found dead in a vehicle on a secluded northern Alabama road were from the western part of Tennessee.

"Authorities were still making sure family members were notified before their identities are released, Winston County sheriff’s Lt. Wes Brown said Friday afternoon. He said investigators have processed the vehicle and recovered evidence from it, though he declined to specify what it was.

"`There’s been no arrest but we feel like this is an isolated incident,` Brown said. `I don’t feel like there’s anything for the public to be concerned about. I understand the gravity of the situation, but I don’t feel like there’s an at-large person that’s endangering the area.`

"Authorities have said that two of the four people were facing child pornography and molestation charges in Tennessee. They said those two people, who were shot to death, had court dates in Tennessee the day their bodies were discovered Wednesday.

"Authorities say the car containing the three men and one woman was parked in the William B. Bankhead National Forest. The area is about 60 miles northwest of Birmingham.

"The victims’ bodies were found in a white car with out-of-state plates. A passer-by noticed the vehicle along the rural road on her way to work.

"The woman called police when she noticed the car parked in the same place on her way home."
