Police Find Body In Crawlspace After Killer Shoots Himself

"FORT PAYNE, AL — Authorities said a 22-year-old who was a suspect in his aunt's disappearance shot himself to death before deputies found the missing Fort Payne woman's body Tuesday in the crawl space of her home.

"Felicia Ann Lindsey, 54, was reported missing at about 10 p.m. Monday and circumstances led DeKalb County authorities to begin a search for Lindsay and her nephew, Max Ruben Zeller, according to Sheriff Jimmy Harris.

"After Lindsey's Jeep was located in Cherokee County, Ga., DeKalb deputies asked Cherokee officers to attempt to locate Lindsey and Zeller. Officers went to search a nearby mobile home and, when they entered, Zeller ran to a bedroom and closed the door.

"`As the officers attempted to enter the room, Zeller apparently shot himself with a handgun,` Harris said. Zeller was taken to a hospital in Marietta, Ga., where he died Tuesday morning.

"`Zeller was in possession of a pistol, cell phone and Jeep belonging to Felicia Lindsey,` Harris said. `Zellers' body was taken to Georgia Department of Forensics for autopsy.`

"With Lindsey still missing, DeKalb County investigators went to her home to search for clues to her whereabouts.

"`It appears Ms. Lindsey was killed in her home and an attempt was made to hide her body in a crawl space under the residence,` Harris said.

"DeKalb Coroner Tom Wilson pronounced Lindsey dead and transported her body to Alabama Department of Forensics Science in Huntsville.

"Initial autopsy results indicate Lindsey died from blunt force trauma to the head. Her death was classified a homicide, Harris said."
