Police Won't Say Who Shot Who
"OXFORD, AL — Authorities this morning provided the names of a husband and wife found dead in their Oxford home Tuesday, and said they were killed by gunshots.
"The dead couple are James Rosa, 50, and Curry Rosa, 49, according to Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy. Oxford police Chief Bill Partridge said both were killed by shots fired from the same pistol. Police have described the deaths as a murder/suicide, but Partidge declined this morning to say who fired the shots.
"`We just want to make sure everything is right before we step out and say something,` Partridge said.
"Murphy said he believes the deaths occurred Monday evening. The bodies will likely not be sent for autopsy, he said, as the causes of death are clear to investigators.
"The Rosas were found dead in their home in a subdivision on County Line Road known as the Plantation. Officers went to the home to check on them at the request of Curry Rosa’s employer—Westinghouse, at the Anniston Army Depot—after she failed to show up for work, according to Murphy and Oxford police Lt. L.G. Owens.
"Partridge said the responding officers were able to see the two bodies through a window.
"James Rosa has three daughters who do not live in the couple’s home, Owens said."
