Police Discover Bodies During Welfare Check

"GARLAND, TX — Garland police are investigating an apparent murder/suicide after discovering the bodies of a Garland man and his wife Friday morning.

"Police discovered the bodies of Brian Marsters, 54, and his wife Corrine, 53, around 10:30 a.m. after responding to a welfare check at their apartment on 5613 Naaman Forest Boulevard.

"Garland Police spokesman Joe Harn said based off a preliminary investigation detectives believe Brian Marsters shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.

"Police said they had received calls from co-workers of Brian who said they were concerned because he had not shown up for work for several days.

"Marsters was the director of operations for Matt’s Rancho Martinez. A general manager at the restaurant said he had no comment about Marsters’ death.

"Harn said a police records check did not show any previous calls of domestic problems between the Martsers.

"Detectives say they are waiting for an official ruling on the cause of death from the Dallas County Medical Examiner."
