Teenager Finds Bodies Of Parents

"LARGO, FL — A 16-year-old girl arrived home Thursday afternoon to find the bodies of her parents, who died in what police are calling a murder-suicide.

"About 2:30 p.m., she arrived at 13156 Thoroughbred Loop and discovered Rochelle Tatrai and Sean Ray, both 46, dead of apparent gunshot wounds, Largo police said. She went outside and flagged down a utility worker, who called 911.

"Tatrai was the president and CEO of Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, recently in the news as it sought to expand a Pasco County shelter to accommodate young immigrant boys fleeing violence in South and Central America.

"Detectives could not determine Thursday who was the shooter, and a motive was not released.

"`This is a very unfortunate, sad incident that happened, especially this time of year,` said Lt. Stephen Slaughter, `and we'll continue our investigation.`

"Police said Tatrai and Ray had been in a relationship, though it was unclear Thursday if they were married. They have another daughter, who is 20 years old. Ray did not live with Tatrai at the townhome just south of Ulmerton Road, where crime scene technicians removed several pets, including cats and a dog."
