Man, Kids Found Dead In Home

"TEMPLE, GA — Two children and a man were found dead in a Carroll County home on Thursday, authorities said.

"According to Chief Deputy Brian Robinson of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, the bodies were discovered at a home on 485 Willow Lane in Temple.

"Authorities believe the man killed his two children, about 9 and 12 years of age, before committing suicide. All three died of gunshot wounds, Robinson said.

"Offices received a call around 3 p.m. from the man's employer stating that he hadn't been to work in several days, which they said was unlike him.

"`We just came out here to do a concern for welfare,` Robinson said. `The doors were locked -- as you can see, the vehicles were in the driveway. We contacted the school about the children. They had not been to school in a couple of days.`

"The man's wife was out of the state at the time. Police said the couple are separated, but still married."
