Baby On Board As Bullets Fly

"TEMPLE, TX — Two Killeen residents died in a shooting Tuesday night at an east Temple residence, police said Wednesday.

"Dead are Shamara Henry, 30, and Quista Henry, 30. A third man, who was not identified, also was shot.

"Police responded at 8 p.m. to a report of shots fired in the 1000 block of South 29th Street. Officers arriving at the scene heard shots as they got out of their cars. They found three people—Shamara Henry, Quista Henry and another man—outside a home, each with gunshot wounds.

"Shamara Henry was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Quista Henry and the other victim were transported to Scott & White Hospital. Quista Henry was pronounced dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

"Marcus McGinnis, who lives near the shooting scene, said the woman, the other shooting victim and a baby moved from Killeen into the house about 10 days to two weeks ago. He said it appeared they were getting ready to leave the house when Quista Henry arrived and shot them.

"Temple police spokesman Cpl. Christopher Wilcox declined to comment on the relationship between Shamara and Quista Henry or about an infant who reportedly was left in a car seat on the trunk lid of a car near the shooting scene.

"Wilcox also declined to say if the investigation is being conducted as a possible murder/suicide."
