"CHICAGO, IL — Police say a 37-year-old man shot and killed his wife, then shot her sister before turning the gun on himself late Sunday in a murder/suicide in the Roseland neighborhood on the Far South Side.

"James Sterling, who lived on the block of the shooting, got into an argument with his wife and fired shots about 9:55 p.m. in the 400 block of West 104th Street, police said.

"Sterling and his 29-year-old wife, Amy Holmes-Sterling, were both pronounced dead at the scene at 10:26 p.m., authorities said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office listed Holmes-Sterling’s home address in the 300 block of East 53rd Street.

"A 26-year-old woman, identified as Holmes-Sterling’s sister, was shot in the shoulder and taken in critical condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said."
