Attempted Murder/Suicide At Hilton Head Assisted Living Center

"HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC — The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspected, attempted murder-suicide after an elderly woman was found dead and her husband found suffering from a gunshot wound in their home at an assisted-living community in Hilton Head.

"Deputies responded to The Seabrook, an assisted-living community located at 300 Woodhaven Lane, on Sunday around 8 p.m. after a caregiver reported two of her clients in need of medical attention.

"Upon arrival, the caregiver told deputies she went to the couple's room and found a note on the door turning away any visitors. Once inside, the caregiver said she found a second note advising her to call 911.

"At that time, deputies say the caregiver found 84-year-old Page Cross lying in a bed suffering from multiple lacerations. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

"In another bedroom, the caregiver found the woman's 90-year-old husband, John Cross, lying on the floor with a gunshot wound and multiple lacerations. He was taken to Hilton Head Medical Center and then transported to Savannah for continued treatment.

"Officials say the investigation continues, with autopsy results pending."

  1. A proper investigation report should create and then some strategies should decide to stop such type of activities..
