Couple Found Shot To Death In Beverly Hills Hilton
"BEVERLY HILLS, CA — Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at the Beverly Hills Hilton involving an elderly man and women whose bodies were discovered just hours before the hotel were to host the Daytime Emmy Awards.
"Officers responded to the famed hotel at 10.55pm Friday night after receiving reports of gunshots being fired and found the victims inside a room.
"The identities of the man and woman have not been revealed, and it remains unknown who killed whom...
"`Homicide investigators believe that they are victims of an apparent murder-suicide,` Beverly Hills Lieutenant Mark Rosen said in a news release...
"A coroner's investigator was dispatched to pick up the bodies just before 6am on Saturday, coroner's Lieutenant Larry Dietz said.
"About five hours earlier, police brought a mobile crime lab to the hotel.
"The famed luxury hotel on Wilshire Boulevard has been the home of the Golden Globe Awards since 1961
"A spokesman for the Beverly Hilton said despite the police activity, the 39th annual Daytime Emmy Awards will go on as planned on Saturday night.
"The hotel nicknamed ‘the place to see and be seen’ most recently made news as the place where Whitney Houston drowned in her room’s bathtub in February.
"Other celebrity deaths include Australian actor Peter Finch, who had a fatal heart attack in the lobby in 1977..."
