Legal And Financial Troubles Preceded Murder/Suicide

"NEWTON CO, IN — A Newton County couple is dead after an apparent murder-suicide.

"Investigators said it happened Friday afternoon on the 400 block State Road 55, about seven miles northeast of Morocco.

"Coroner Scott McCord said he believes Marv Simon, 62, killed his wife Mindy Simon, 60, and his dog before shooting himself. McCord said the couple had been separated and lived in different houses on the same property.

"McCord said Marv's financial and legal troubles may have played a role in the deaths."
