1 Brother Dead, 1 Injured In PA Murder/Suicide

"UNION TOWNSHIP, PA - One brother is dead and another hospitalized in what Porter County Sheriff's Police are calling an attempted homicide and suicide.

"Wednesday morning, officers found Lawrence Hull, 56, dead in the kitchen of the home he shared with his brother. A .22-gauge rifle was found next to him, Porter County Sheriff's Police Sgt. Erik Wiseman said.

"They also found brother Ronald Hull, 69, on the couch in the living room, still alive but suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.

"Police suspect that Lawrence shot Ronald, then himself.

"The home is at 196 N. County Road 750W, near the Lake County border.

"Ronald was taken to Porter hospital and was in intensive care as of Wednesday afternoon, Wiseman said.

"A female relative and neighbor called 911 about 8:42 a.m., telling dispatchers that there'd been a shooting between the brothers.

"Wiseman said relatives told police investigating the scene at the old white farmhouse that Lawrence hadn't been taking his medicine and hadn't been acting like himself.

"Police are still investigating the shootings, but Wiseman didn't expect charges to be filed from the incident."
