Death In The Garage

"RICHMOND, KY - Authorities in the bluegrass region say a father and his teenage daughter have died in an apparent murder-suicide.

"The Lexington Herald-Leader reported the bodies of 43-year-old Richard Moore and his 13-year-old daughter Kelsey Moore were found in a garage at their home in Madison County.

"Sheriff Nelson O'Donnell said officers were called to the home shortly after noon Sunday. The sheriff said the girl had physical disabilities and Richard Moore was divorced from the girl's mother.

"Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said there was a strong indication of carbon monoxide in the house and garage. He estimated the time of the deaths at 1 a.m. Sunday. The bodies have been sent to Frankfort for autopsies.

"O'Donnell said there is no indication of further foul play."

From WAVE 3...

EDITOR'S NOTE: I was tempted to let this story slide. In my opinion, death by carbon monoxide usually indicates a suicide pact. But given that one of the victims here couldn't defend herself due to her disability, murder was obviously on the mind of the perpetrator. -tsc
