"MARIANNA, FL - The Jackson County, Fla., Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the late-Friday death of a local couple, but preliminary indications point to a murder-suicide.
"According to a release from Sheriff Louis Roberts, deputies received a call in reference to domestic violence at 314 Highway 73 South in Marianna at 11:38 p.m. While en route to the scene, the Sheriff’s Office received a second call at 11:47 p.m., stating that two people were dead at the residence. Deputies arrived at 11:56 p.m. and discovered the bodies of a male and female inside the home.
"The Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of the deceased.
"`The investigation at this time indicates the male subject shot the female subject and then took his own life,` Roberts said.
"The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Mobile Scene Crime Unit."
