"My Parents Were Shot"
"VANCOUVER, WA - A young girl walked to a neighbor's house for help after she found her parents shot Wednesday in what Vancouver police are calling a murder-suicide.
"Steve Grice told police the child said her parents were on the floor and not moving, investigators said.
"`I was walking to pick up the mail and she said, 'My parents were shot,'` Grice said.
"Officers said the neighbor went to the house and found a man and woman in a pool of blood and called 911 at about 2 p.m. The pair had died of apparent gunshot wounds, investigators said.
"Police arrived at the house, located on SE 30th Way, and called for immediate medical assistance.
"Officers are not commenting on the relationship between the man and woman, but neighbors said they were a couple who had recently separated.
"Investigators said the crime has been ruled a murder-suicide. Officers found what could be the weapon, but are not saying who the shooter was.
"Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday.
"This incident is the sixth murder-suicide in just over a month in the Portland metro area."
