Friends Found Dead In Home
"JACKSONVILLE, FL — A young man and woman believed to be in their early 20s were found shot to death Friday afternoon at a home on Danhurst Way, Jacksonville police said.
"The unidentified woman’s mother came home about 4:15 p.m. to find the two bodies, police said. Both had apparent gunshot wounds.
"Homicide sergeant Jay Farhat said it appears to be a murder-suicide.
"`They are friends. We are not 100 percent sure whether they are boyfriend and girlfriend, but they have known each other for quite a while,` Farhat said.
"Police said a handgun was recovered at the scene.
"Covington Creek neighbor Edward Dillon said it was `very shocking` news in this close-knit community.
"`It makes you think that in this world all kinds of things can happen,` he said. `Today there are many troubled people out there.`"
