Thanksgiving Ruined By Drunk With A Gun

"ALBERTVILLE, AL — Albertville Police are investigating an apparent attempted murder and suicide attempt in a mobile home park just off Alabama 205.

"According to Albertville Police Chief Doug Pollard, a Hispanic man joined his estranged wife for a Thanksgiving meal at a mobile home on Lydia Drive Thursday. Pollard said the man was `highly intoxicated.`

"Just before 7 p.m., the couple got into an argument in the bedroom of the mobile home. The husband pulled out a gun and shot his wife four times in the arm and once in the face. He then turned the gun on himself, shooting himself in the head.

"Names of the victims have not been released.

"A male family member took the woman—who is eight months pregnant—to Marshall Medical Center South in a small black sedan before medics arrived on scene.

"She was reportedly suffering from a serious head wound and was in grave condition, Pollard said.

"The husband was transported to Marshall Medical Center South by Albertville Fire medics.

"Pollard said both would be airlifted from the hospital to Huntsville Hospital for further treatment Thursday night.

"Another female and some children were in the home at the time of the shooting, but none were injured, Pollard said."
